Mk 1 (i.e. 1991-1998) Clios are notorious for problems with their heater matrices (matrix as singular!). Certainly on the 16v its expensive due to the labour, but it might well be a lot less on a non-16v/Williams model.

Hi mate
I bought the car six months after it had some pretty major mechanical surgery, following the failure (in service) of a cambelt.
Basically, as the gent I bought the car from explained, it was going to be £1400 for a normal rebuild or just a bit more for some work to be done to it...

Youre both on thin ice.
If the accident wasnt reported to the Police, then theres little chance anything would stand in the Small Claims Court: thats good for you.
But if you pay him off this time, what will be next? There were no assessors involved, no reports and so on. Sadly, that...
Mines on 94.5k. It has been re-built, but is fundamentally sound. My mates was on 130k, but then his car was flooded so he got a new one anyway.
Will depend mostly on driving style.
If youve got the money then thats fine.
My engine had some tuning done to it before I bought the car - great, I thought. The problem is that an extra 10...20...30bhp will rip through almost all engine-related parts within a few thousand miles. Ive basically had to re-build the rest of the...
Are you serious??!!!
A Williams would - and I really mean this - *anihilate* a Golf Turbo.
The Willy has 150bhp and weighs 975kgs. The Golf 1.8 Turbo has 150bhp and weighs 1350kg. Go figure!
Ok - its not as simple as power to weight. But in every measure you may choose, a Williams...

I used to think I could stick a 16v engine in my old 1.2 Clio. Just have a careful look at the complexity of it all - diffs, gbox, brakes, suspension, electrics, cooling, starting, charging etc.
If youre going to get a mechanically perfect 172 for silly money and youre going to swap every...
I must explain that I regularly use the Severn Bridge - which has tolls for 10 lanes and then goes to three lanes over about 1/4 miles. Its the best place to race cars off the mark!
Anyway, to the case in hand:
Closest;): Mk1 172. Neck and neck to *00 off standing start. Nowt in it at all...
