Very true, I wasn't slating the ECU at all I was just going through what I would check myself logically should I ever have this fault :) Lets hope it is a simple fix :D

The sub is probably a coincidence, nothing more. Take it out if it makes you feel better but i feel that it has nothing to do with your problems. Check your battery terminals, especially the main -ve to the chassis. Have you checked the ECU in the engine bay? are there any signs of...

Sounds like the ECU to be honest, does the engine cut out too?

Heat gun is probably safer, however I didn't need either method so couldn't really say. I took a 2lb lump hammer to mine and they just dropped off! :evil:

They're just rusted on, the centre nut (which holds the hub on) does not need to be removed. Try hitting them from the rear rotating the disc slightly everytime, working your way round the full disc. Failing that, heat them up a bit!

It sure is fella but i've just got a company van so the fuel bill will be massively reduced. The service and the MOT obviously are now out of the way for 12months plus so the next year or so should cost me very little! ;) He says... :rasp:

Yes it is, 60mm on the 'Cups' and IIRC 54mm on the 'non-Cups'.
