Tyre weld is a last resort IMO as it renders the tyre useless. I see your reckoning but I'd much prefer a spare wheel for the longer journeys! :)
The only real definitive way to know is to measure them. They came in three different bolt spacings from memory.
If you have 58mm spacings then no 54mm will not fit without modification.

The LED's in my FF are not polarised. Your options are;
1, Buy a new, non-polarised LED = Job done.
2, Buy a new FF interior light and 2 new non-polarised LED's (501's) = Job done.
