Sounds like you've probably pulled a load of crap through possibly dirtying the oxygen sensor or similar.
As for the traction/serv lights thats probably the infamous brake pedal switch fault, do a search for that it's covered all the time mate.
For what exactly, a new set?
You can order just the key from Renault, which I had to do last year and the price was about £20 all in.
The code you need should be in your owners/service manual.
You can re-synch them yourself yes, the method I've listed above is from memory but I'm sure it's the correct one.
Renault can do a dealer re-synch on clip but they will (obviously) charge for that.
I can re-solder the keys providing you still have the tiny micro-button as mentioned by Matt.
Freebone, yours has probably lost the little button I'm referring to, however if you've tried swapping the battery chances are that the button will have fallen out and be lost forever. :dapprove:
I've just tret myself to a new TV and DVD/surround sound package and the salesman was waffling on trying to get me to add a HDMI cable at a cost of about £60!!! :eek:
