Please no mudflaps!
Id still go for k-tec for the exhaust route, theyre not too loud from what they told me. I think colour coding would finish the exterior off on yours, maybe just a subtle rear spoiler to go with it?
Always happens when you think about a certain car!
I think its a 3.6 straight six, with good ol garrett turbos!
Does anyone know how the Carltons compared to the Ferrari (though actually ducati) engined Lancia Thema 8.32s?
Might be a fake clubsport, 968 coupes id 0-60 in 6.5 and 155mph so it might be close. Thats all i can think of, turbos did 0-60 in 4.1! Clubsports were non turbo but uprated to around 270bhp..not sure how fast they were.
As Alex said your best off swapping the rear axle.
There is little point though, the reason you have drums there is because the rear brakes are hardly used, as long as you get some decent front stoppers youll be fine.
I just drove my dads M3 back to the house and got beaten by a nova! lol, i pressed the sport button at the lights and the old SMG gearbox was so vicious it *made* me miss 2nd
I didnt realise the elise, especially the mk2 which i think looks quite aggro had a hairdressers/gay tag. Id still have one though. How often would you get to the V6s top speed these days?
Youre right about the stonechips thing, one owner i know covers the whole front with a protective film...
I think as long as we keep to the basic points theyre interesting debates. Its understable that some of us will get defensive about our own cars, luckily i own neither cup/172 or cooper s but have driven all the before mentioned so my opinion is therefore right. lol!
At the end of the day...
People are saying the mini is a better handling car. This is not true and depends how you measure good handling. The Mini has more grip, better turn in and unsuprisingly because of the awful ride it adjusts to different surfaces and bumps without any twitchyness. Now a 172 may not be as good as...
As a serious point to in though, its so obviously just a piece of plastic, it looks like an afterthought (which of course it is), a crappy aftermarket feel were used to seeing on novas. Its hardly a tight fit against the exhaust pipe (which looks unbalanced as it should have one either side)...
Yep was issue 43, doesnt matter about point to point though, cup is significantly faster and with a good driver will be faster, your average driver would probably be better off in the cooper s.
For a lot of people a clio vs mini battle would be like splitting hairs, i just dont like the...
I believe what cupsize has said, as they are very very quick cars, its noticeably quicker than a 172 and a 172 is quicker than a cooper s. Upon reading car magazines the cup can keep up with an RS focus, heres a bit from evo:
"Its rivalry with the Renault began when it met the cooking 172...
If you look at most cars with these bodykitsin mags, even those who go to this supposed superb bodyshops, the fit and finish is a joke. Even though i dont like most french modified cars they seem to spend a lot of time on quality.
