    yeah if you had say a 4v preout headunit before you might only have 2v on your new unit so it would be set "wrong" now

    my new super elite has a quiet dvd drive and so was the new dvd driver ms fitted to my old elite looking at the deals on here it seems it i got a fair price for my old elite :)

    just remember it is a gain and not a volume control needs to be set at whatever the pre-out voltage of your headunit is at the maximum volume you listen to it at

    i had an early elite aswell that rrod but when i sent it to microsoft to get it fixed they fitted a new dvd drive at the same time so i'd try and see if you can get it to rrod

    i only buy shell v-power as my car has been mapped for super unleaded and it the nearest petrol station and i do collect the points too

    from what i can see is that the new ones run on the same 12v + 5v supply but the new psu's only output about 12A where as the old ones used to do about 16A also the new ones are lighter and smaller :)
