i'd say go for powder coat my wheels are alot easier to clean now and come up to a nice shine i think there fine as long as you don't use wheel cleaner on them

i'm the same i've got the 5800 but not sure it is enough of an upgrade to justify the price

from what i gather they are pretty much the same guts and software as the 5800 although with a glass screen they should be a better touch screen

if you look on the technical datasheet of both items it will give you a load of circuits you can make using the items

it's not really the length of the lever is more that the switch will have to be fixed so once the needle hits it the needle will stop the switch is right as it has a common and normally open and a normally closed contacts which swap when the swich operates

you could use that switch as it is a spdt switch but you could only use it at the very end of the needle movement probably the last 200rpm

the black cap covers the part of the needle that attches to the stepper motor so there is no space behind the black cap unless of course you changed the black cap to something about 30mm in dia. to hide everything also one other thing is i really don't know what the f**k i'm on about lol

your not going to be able to do it with anything mechanical also if you could you'd have to mount something on the front of the dials

you might be able to hook it up to one of these set it up for dot mode and connect the one set of leds to outputs 1-5 and the other set to outputs 6-10 i'd say you could use any speed pulse just need to find out how to set it up also a micro switch wont be that small tbh

you just need to find the speed pulse signal and find a controller that can convert the signal to one that is able to control a tri-colour led driver this should be able to do something useful with the speed pulse

you might as well get the GOTY edition for 30 and have all the add on's

i'd go for the 510 ohm 1/4 watt

you need to know the max current the led can take to find out what ohm resistor you need

i had mine done @ the wheel specialist (only a mile from my house) they are a bit pricey but same day turn around aint bad for the price

i'd say try like a blue permanent pen then over that with white paint

white needles on white backlit dials looks ok thats what i had on mine glad you got the display sorted

Re: LED Dash cinversion i'd say it probably is an easy fix as it is partly working just need someone to have a look at it that sort of knows what they are looking for

depends if there is a 3 pin or 2 pin connection on the input of the laptop psu if it's 3 pin then i wouldn't use it without that connected also having an extension lead without the earth connected is a big NO NO
