It won't last. That's just like the toothpaste trick. Looks improved for about a month but goes bad eventually. The only way to do it properly is the get some fine wet&dry and clear polish
Yes you can. Is the 172 a phase 2 also?
The only real trouble you'll have is if you mix phase 1 with phase 2. The wires are different and you will need adapters for that
Need to know more about which sport you got the seats from and what Clio you have. Phase 1 or 2?
If I've read this correctly and you've got spare wires not connected to anything, then you may need adapters
I'm thinking the op doesn't actually want to engine swap from a 1.2 to a 1*2. Most reps are just the body kit and some cheap collies. And it's only a wasted venture if you're planning to track it.
Are you having difficulty with the sarcasm or the maths? The cost to keep a 172 is always going to be more than a 1.2.
What really makes no sense is keeping a 1.2 clean and serviced so it's easier to sell to a 17yo learner who's going to rag it like he's playing gta.
You can pick up a full 1*2 kit for £200ish on eBay. But why do that when you can pay £1500 for a half decent 172, insure it for £1000, £600 for a cambelt (if neglected).
£3100 vs £200? And if you keep the 1.2 standard and save up, the 1*2 may be £500 less to insure.
172/182 clios were made in two shades of silver. Replacement wings might be a cause for colour change. And Renault didn't make the exhausts to last on mk2s so hanger/cat/section joints commonly erode away after time.
Better off going for the 175 or 200 piece halfords kit. The 150 kit is missing a few deep socket peices that you'll sorely miss if you're very spanner-happy.
Yes they are.
Bolt to hub is best for 20mm or more increase. Stud conversion is complicated with spacers. Too long and you can't put smaller spacers on without changing to bolts. Too short and you're limited on size.
Anyone know the of a air intake pipe designed for the k4m 1.6 engine. (To go on a mk2 ph2 Clio) I've tried to make one from odds and spare silicone tubes laying about but the 90 degree bend at the manifold is pretty much squashed against the bulkhead of the engine bay.
It's worth noting this is...
Pretty sure the length from centre pipe to back box is different also (by a little bit at least. The bore will have to be adapted so that's either a flexi section or other similar section. You'll have to add/take this length to/from the new exhaust.
I was pretty sure the exhaust mounts are located in differnent places. The manifold length will effect the exhaust build no matter what the system does around the cat. If I'm reading correctly, you're trying to put a 1.6/1.4 exhaust on a 172? If that's the case you'd get a longer cat section...
No. wont fit because the 1*2 manifolds are longer and the hanger mounts are placed differently. Not impossible if you are willing to cut&weld but very annoying
Looking at fibre glass body options and just wondering what people are getting for their money? I'm not really looking for a dedicated track toy and would like to keep the current door cards, speakers and electric mirrors.
I was looking at this site...
