4 sets of pads on the rear in 20k??? Think they may be a problem indeed!haha
James28, I thought I had the same the other day, turned out to be road cr#p on them, making it look like it.
Not cool! Least you tracked them down!
Looks like:
-New wing
-New headlight (Small crack on bottom corner)
-bumper repaired
-wing and bumper sprayed?
(were they in their own car or the flower shops car? Potentially not insured for business use?)

I know you say you don't have the time, but know how to do the work. Able to just set a weekend aside and do everything? Where abouts you based, someone might be able to led a hand?
I could be wrong and I will try and find the other thread on this, but I think the water temp sensor located under/ behind the airbox can cause this problem as well.
You can measure the hub to damper spacing as well to check if it has cup pack suspension or not. 54mm is non-cup and 60mm is cup spec suspension.
I'm mixed about the strips, Like them on some and not on others. You planning on doing much to it?
I'm guessing the light on the dash flicks on and then flicks off as the switch goes back to it's central position? Unlike if you try it in cruise control the light stays on?

Out of interest, is it cable throttle or fly by wire? Trying to work out which cars have which of the 1.8T varieties! (Should be putting one in my mk1 Golf)
