I've seen a few threads like this now so apologies if I'm repeating what others have already posted, but I cant seem to find a solution and they don't 100% relate to the issue I'm currently having.
So my car has been a bit temperamental when starting, most of the time its fine and starts first...
Think you could be right flebay, did a bit of investigating at the weekend, the noise cant be heard in the engine bay, but stuck my head under the car and sounds like its coming from the cat
So I had a bit of a play with my car on the way home from work. Tried bringing the revs up when the car was still and out of gear, it starts to make the noise at bang on 4000rpm. Also discovered that the noise starts at 4000rpm when driving, when giving it more revs this time it seemed to stop...
Hi everyone, I've noticed a noise I can only describe as scraping or grinding when my car is under heavy load, it only does it when I take it above 4500-5000 revs is, so its when ever it comes into the power band. I held the car at at 5000ish revs and it continues to make the noise. My immediate...
It had been raining, but the rain hasn't been an issue before, I've just had the cambelt and dephaser done, don't know if that's of any relevance. I did ask if he'd noticed any problems anywhere else and he said it was all fine
Hi guys, I started my car up yesterday and it was juddering slightly on idle, I raised the RPM to about 2000 and it started juddering quite severely. When I tried to drive it felt like it didn't want to rev and was struggling for power. I let it sit and get up to temperature and the RPM that it...
I'm literally about to go back to the garage that did the MOT because as I said earlier, this wasn't happening before I took it for it's test. Cheers for the feedback
They said they couldn't do the emissions test because the car was getting too hot just sitting running and not moving, there was no fan to cool the engine.
The heaters feel very hot, like the car has been running for at least half an hour
My Clio 172 Cup has been running fine. Took it for it's MOT on Friday, but they couldn't do the emissions test because the radiator fan wasn't kicking in. The garage put in a temporary fix to get it through the test and gave me it back. I've since been to an auto electrics place to sort the...
Hi, I'm sure this is been covered before, if it has, and someone can point me in the right direction, that would be great....
But I've been having problems with my boot, for a while it wouldn't lock, and how all of a sudden it's locked and it wont unlock, does anyone know the solution to this...
The wheels on my 172 Cup have been powder coated and I'm sure many people have done the same. Just wondered if anyone knows if I can use alloy wheel cleaner on them? I don't know how aggressive it is and I don't want to risk damaging the paint. I'm just cleaning them with normal car shampoo at...
The taper was 60 degrees but the length of it was about 5mm shorter than the standard bolt and it wasn't sitting properly in my wheel, I asked the mechanic when I went to get a spare bolt and he said he wouldn't trust them, just going from his advice really.
I thought about painting mine, but they're in pretty bad condition, they need replacing, one of them actually snapped when I took it out, luckily not in the hub. Got a spare from the garage to tide me over.
This might be a daft question, but has anyone replaced the wheel bolts for their 172 Cup? I ordered some bolts online but the taper is too small for the Speedline Turinis. Mine are all rusted and I want to replace them. I know I need M12 x 1.5 thread size but can someone tell me the correct...
If your still interested Andy_vx I spoke to pipercross today and they say they've done a lot of testing for the best position for the cold air feed, and they say you get the best results tucking it next to the battery, behind the headlight, I found the hose that comes with the kit isn't long...
I will be as well as long as it stops raining! I got some silicone sealant today, apparently that's strong enough to hold it in place, I'm not so sure though, don't want to make a mess of it :| Have you got a Viper as well Andy?
I know gaffa tape fixes anything, but really? lol I'm not sure it would do the job, there's quite a big gap around the hole in the fog light surround and the intake for the air feed
Just got myself a Pipercross Viper today for my 172 Cup, I'm going to run the cold air feed through my fog light, which I'm sure many of you have done, just wondering what people have used to hold it in place? I've just got some carbon fog light surrounds so didn't really want to use glue and...

Cheers for the replys guys. It says on the website they must be bonded in place. I'll have a look at tiger seal, read that epoxy resin works quite well, may try that.
So some developments on this....Went out for a drive today and my gear box is now crunching slightly changing in and out of 4th, was doing it, 3rd-4th, and 4th-5th, doesnt seem to be doing it ith any other gears, it's not a massive crunch, just sounds like somethings catching.
Any ideas, anyone?
