What are your thoughts/wish list?
There are plenty of rumours regarding what will be available.
I am hoping for a new MacPro, along with the new MacBook Pro range and maybe discounted ACD's.
You can with the TB displays, but thats £1800 for two monitors. Or, use a couple of dells with no TB for £600 or so (depending on model)
But I want to be able to use 2 normal external monitors, directly through the MBP.
The new samsung 8000 series has a USB ethernet port, it's somewhat annoying.
The 7000 series has a slightly re-designed ethernet port, where it's smaller, with a flap, but you can open the flap slightly to make it a full size.
Both of the above annoying.
Full trackpad across the base, I don't...
Re: iPhone 5 this October??
Don't think many people think like that do they?
I think the 4 had issues, yes. They should have not been there, but hey.
The 4s, even though it's the same shape* it's completely different, everything about it.
The reason why so many people complained about the...
Always had a bit of an issue with the 350d.
On the menu, when hooked up to the computer, change it to print mode when connected (another option is by default)
That will solve the issue.
I can't remember exactly what the wording is, but you will see what I mean.
Have you actually profiled your existing setup and looked at what could be/is your bottle neck?
I think you need to profile before you get something like this together as you might be over specking and you could be spending money on things you do not need and would be better in your pay rise ;)...
Hardware wise and resell value totally agree. As for your comment about the OS, not true. If you compare Lion with Windows 7, they are actually rather similar within reason. Somethings Windows 7 does better, somethings OSX does better. Windows 7 does require more maintenance, but I would not say...
If you're going to have failover nodes i.e dual nodes on the front end, I hope you have redundant switches and redundant NAS. For two nodes, depending on how you have it, I would consider using local storage, it'll be quicker. Less complicated and cheaper.
Then backup from the local storage to...
QNAP offer horrible support. Nice devices but support is shocking.
I like synology devices, they are good. I bought an employee of ours a 712+ and he likes it.
The N40L is a great bit of kit, you should have kept that. OpenFiler and FreeNas provide NFS quite nicely, but anyway, that is done...
Ok, this is what I did, and recovered everything, including applications.
Full sync with Zune.
Used the W7 backup tool on the link above (need to ensure the phone developer tools are installed on the local workstation)
Did a reset of my phone.
Phone restarted as new.
Did a restore, via...
True. I never thought I would like a windows phone ever again, since the previous versions (piles of crap)
Anyhow, the backup tools are somewhat shocking.
I've done a backup using Zune and also using this tool > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379571
I reset the phone, but...
Zune is giving me an error message, google says it's a facebook error but I don't have facebook, so don't see how that is. Thinking of re-formatting, but the backup tools aren't great, can't save SMS messages .......

Thanks for looking.
It's a s**t show, but my brother is on it, hence why needing to (mother lives in spain and sky go doesn't work, even with vpn's) so wanted to "record it" for her to watch.....
Ok, that proves to be somewhat hard. I sort of understand.
I want to record the last episode of the love machine on Sky Living...... and next weeks too, save it on a DVD or whatever.
Damn, need to find another way then :)
