Yeh is the 1 Cit-Ren were sellling... i paid £1k delivered...
The damage is just rack, Inner Wing, Crossmember/Slam panlel, Rad, Fan, Wish bones, Subframe, cosmetic after that....
I know some people wont touch a car thats had a knock... thats there choice... i dont care aslong as the work has...
Highways Insurance dont actually deal with the public.... they go through insurance brokers only :-( so if u go to flux or HIC etc.... they will add a hefty % of the premiun on for themselfs...
If only Highway would deal with the public we would save 10-30% on our premiuns... they are very good...
I did think about reshelling but were is the fun in that....
I brought it like it off ebay, fairly cheap... I have a very good friend who owns a body shop... owe's me a fair few favours.... so now i have called them in...
I have brought new genuine parts except for front bumper... that was...
Right guys i am gonna start a thread about my on going rebuild/rescue of a written off Oddesey blue 172... This is my first time at posting up pics... so forgive me if they go wrong...
Pic of my car... looks ok yeh...
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
Burp,
How is that dash coming along? Does it fit over existing Dials etc? I am tempted to do the same myself as my dash is looking rather aged....
There are a few Sport's round here now, There another i know off. Silver C* ROB has a clio sport badge in the rear aswell.
Might have to do a Ashford Meet soon Lads...
There's a few 172 about now in Ashford...
My 2 of my Firends have them... 1 black 172 with 5 spoke chrome...ish looking wheels and private plate V3***
Another lad had just brought a Ph1 Y172 *** black with Fox multi spoke wheels...
And ofcourse mine... Y441 *** Monaco Blue Ph 172 but that...
Sorry for the hijack but i thought i would post here instead of starting a new thread...
I have a Mk2 ph1 172, brought a 182 Manifold.... looking to buy a sport cat for it... i see on ebay there are some for around £100 these are 200 cells per square inch, would they be ok to use on this above...
My clio DCi 106hp (57 reg) has the same box from a 197 & 225....
Not sure if the 100 is a older model or something....
Also worth noting that the 1.5dci is also in the new Nissan Micra... its a Nissan designed engine and often worth checking with Nissan and Reanult on prices of parts....
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
Good work fella,
What you doing about the Air Bag light? Will the car pass with Air Bag light on?
Doing very similar with my 172, Love the idea of the other dash and going to a breakers this week to try and get 1.
Ebay, set me back £50 for an OMP one, fast delivery aswell...

Just like this...
I have 2 spare stickers, i have been there in 3 different car's all have ring stickers on.... even my learner/work car has ring stickers on (yes i drove a L plated learner car round)
I must admit its nice to pull up and say hey you been to the ring? And say so have i.. pull over have a chat...
Not sure about wires to the back, if not easy job to do, As for drilling a hole there is very little room in the bulk head and it was just easier to dril a hole in the passenger footwell... If you have access to a ramp alot more easier than jack stand's.... a local garage let me borrow a ramp...
My driving school clio 57 reg, has a head unit, 2 x amps, 4 x 6"x9"'s and a 12" sub, my local dealer didnt mind when i had a claim on a faulty clutch master...
They even moved some off my amp wires out of few and drilled me a proper hole for my wiring with a nice grommet to match...
didnt...
Very good engine, gearbox is the same out of a 197, 225.... I have the same car as u, goes very very, taken it to the ring and overtook loads of cars up the hill's.... tourque is very good.
When you say new do you mean brand new?? If so Renault £550 inc vat....
Or ebay/breakers for 2nd.... start from £50 for damaged/repairable or £100 for decent....
I paid £100 delivered for mine 2 weeks ago and that also included the fogs.
Lol o was very tempted to get a 197 to teach in, but went for the diesel instead...
Not as fast but its chipped 130hp and 280nm.. I am not complaining, same 6 speed box and the 197 aswell. Just got to sort out the standard suspension and fit some nice wheels and tyres...
I have a TomTom One, With the europe map.
Does what it says on the tin, gets me where i want to go.
With any Satnav system you have to keep your whits about you.. ie: not drive up dead end roads, or on a country lane when a dual carriage way is right next to it (happened to us in germany)
New box's arent expensive £80 from Sky, same price on ebay aswell... you can buy 2nd hand box's but you run the risk of problems with them.
Atleast with a new box from sky you get 1 year quantee...
You could have it retrimed if its just the material f*Cked...
Personally i am just replacing my wholse steering wheel with a aftermarket one and doing away with the Air Bag
I have a New Clio DCI 106hp,
I use it all day, around town and getting 52mpg... thats with Learner drivers...
Its done 12k in 3 months and not a fault yet...
Cant rate enough.

I have seen that car on RTOC, a bloke called Grant had it,,, Essex way me thinks...
Truely lovely car, put my clean/standard ish 5 to shame.... Even so no rust on my 5 either.
I use 1 of these cars every day to teach in, 1.5 DCi 106hp, pulls very well and top speed of 128moh gps recorded 136ish on the dials... German Autobahns of course.
I use it to teach in, and i know exactly what you mean by seat positioning... but i find once you fiddle for a few days you get the...
