I just used the same pads and compounds I use for paint, and as always, start with the cutting pad to remove the sanding marks, and step down till you're on the finishing pad.
Does anyone still bother with dedicated wheel cleaners?
I've come to the end of my VP Bilberry and AF Imperial and I find I'm not really miss them all that much. My wheels are sealed with coatings, so only use shampoo mix or citrus power / RDS. Other none protected wheels I wash down with the...
Best method I found for cleaning wax applicators is give them an initial rinse, then leave to sit in very hot water and fairy liquid. Leave it till the water starts to cool as this will break down the wax better with the hot water. Massage it as you rinse then leave to air dry
It's a simple branded applicator for using with any spot pads, I've had one for using on tight areas when polishing for a while

I love my waxmates, used it last night and worked lovely with desire
No gloss or wax enhancing shampoo should strip your LSP. More likely is it leaves something behind over your LSP that hides or affects its performance and or water behaviour
My headlights look worse than that pictured and were quite pitted, one light I started at 1200 and this alone left some deep marks that took a bit of time to remove, the other only needed 1500, working back up to 2000 and 2500 before using a cutting polish. If they did have some form of glue on...
Which one are you using? I was originally impressed with my chemical guys mitt as it was leaving very little to no damage, until I used it on my gloss black Mk5 Golf and it looked as if I'd started to wet sand.
I've found they can be difficult to fully remove the remains of the tar spots left...
If using ironx on a car thats never been decontaminated before then you will use a lot on wheels and body.
On a well maintained or protected car you won't use anywhere near as much
Using products like tripple and rejuvenate with a MF pad seems to help them draw out a lot more dirt, and not just the fact it's easier to see it. If you're wanting to use these types of product with a foam pad it's better to use one of the tri foam or 'german' coloured pads rather than the...
Paul.M I still don't like the idea of any hose or washer on the engine bay. Use some old MF that can go in the bin afterwards, soak them in warm G101 and start wiping it down once rung out.
HD is a great alrounder but not overly that nice to use sometimes. Maybe some of the nattys waxes might be an option, very cheap, easy to use and look pretty good, but don't last all that long. or one of the Victoria waxes such as concours or collectors 3oz pots. Or a nice easy spray sealant...
So you're working the polish up to speed 5 then when finished just switching it off? You're not working the speeds back down at all? If not then try this as the less pressure and slower speeds might improve the finish a little, but when using heavy cutting pads and compounds you've got to expect...
Ryan, tripple and toughcoat is a simple winning combo on all light colours. Although I had good results with menz powerlock. Similar to Z2, doesn't last quite as long but looked and felt better. I can lend you my sample bottle if you like.
Have you considered the likes of reload or C2 over a...
Exactly as JD has said. Keep the car well waxed and it should wash off very easily. Always best when washing your car to damp it down initially, then use a good pre wash product like autofinesse citrus power or valet pro advanced nuetral snow foam through a spray bottle and leave it to dwell...
