As said it's the key
There is a little tiny black transponder chip in the key case that is read by a pickup ring around the ignition barrel - if it can't read that chip the immobiliser won't turn off
Also that is controlled by the ECU and has nothing to do with the alarm - the alarm is...
That's kinda what I was getting at - Spend £200 on cheap road tyres and they'll be destroyed every 2 track days. Or get a years use out of RSR's
There's no point scrimping £80/100 and then having to replace them 3 times a year
It does seem to depend on the alloy though how they react
Me and my mate had my 106 speedlines and his DC2 wheels done at CAS coatings - they were fine for years and years. I even accidentally jumped a kerb in the 106 and bent 2 of the alloys and some guy bought them off me and had them...
My old conti's did the same, and so did my old t1r's... though I will admit not as quickly
I still don't think it's worth scrimping £80 at the end of the day.
Right ok - well I just did 2hr open pit at cadwell on road tyres with the same geometry setup as you, I admit a bit more power and huge stoppers... but still relevant I think.
For the first 8minutes of a session they gripped well at the front, a lot better than I thought they would. You could...
Oh and the reason they INSIST on doing a valet before you collect is if you ever saw a car come in fresh from the boat/loader you wouldn't buy new
About 10% of brand new cars had to have paint work done to them. By the time you've removed all the protective plastic cover b****cks, and washed...
Exactly that.
I had a summer "off" my IT job and worked for a valeting company, it's £20's worth of paint sealant and fabric sealant. Takes an hour or two max to apply. The fabric stuff is nasty - had to wear breathing apparatus and one lad collapsed doing it :|
That being said the cars we...
That's the exact same geometry I run and I will tell you know you get a fair bit of grip out of road tyres but they die QUICKLY. I get 8 minutes of hard driving before the tyres are completely unuseable and I have to come in to let them cool down
Push your budget - £200 you will get...
Chip - I don't know he's ever been there in the dry to do a fast lap mate.. I'll ask though
Hrmmm I did think that but I had a look at the tyres and couldn't see any marks on them at all - though the outside of them does look a bit scrubbed which is weird with -3 degrees of front camber lol...
Nah the hairpin is at the end of the wooded complex - you go up the mountain then swing through the right/left/right/left and theres a hairpin at the end
4 pots locked up as the track was really greasy from the tree sap and the back end swung round
Woke me up! lol
The gauges are wideband...
Oh just to add though I do agree with your summary
For 90% of people it's a waste of time, but if you want to shave a little bit of weight and add more track feedback, or your current pipes are all cracked and about ready to give up like mine were then it's well worth doing :D
Interesting view points
I have same tyres, same engine mounts, same spacers, same camber, same rear ARB....
I don't class feeling like your holding the wheels as bad feedback - I like feeling more going on in my hands. I've felt absolutely no "shimmy"ing at all either - not on the road to...
I can never understand the guys who are quicker on the straight and then hold everyone up on the corners. It's not a 1/4 mile lol
If someone is faster through a corner than me I just let em pass
It's a sony action camera
It's mounted on an arm coming off the roll cage. Sadly the arm has become loose and I didn't notice till I went out on track :(
Yes mate hahaha
Hit the brakes going into the hairpin, back end came out - bit of a close call.
3 of my mates have written cars off on that exact corner - it's a b**ch!
