Thats a bit of a con...
The 172s were all metallic and no extra cost there, so although the 182 although it is "allegedly" the same list price as the 172 it replace, in actual fact its gonna cost you £300 more!
A K-Tec sports cat and any decent aftermarket zorst, but if you want twin tailpipes like a 182 youll need to cut the boot floor off and get a custom (Powerflow) system made up...
And it will for a long time yet...
My Cup is still tight at the top end at just coming up to 7k miles and it takes a good 10-12k until they start to fully loosen up!
Seeing as how most of the car is still the same and its built in the same factory, by the same people, highly unlikely...
Hopefully some things will have been sorted out though, so fingers crossed not as bad!
Its pretty useless on the mk2 & Cup, its tucked away in the bottom right hand corner of the clocks, nowhere near the rev counter!

Those performance mods are spot on and very similar to the route Im going...
Ive got a Viper & a Scorpion system so far, but want a sports cat & ECU too!
Another thing you might wanna consider is modding the inlet manifold.
The Hill Power ECU is the exact same one as thr R-Sport ECU.
You can fit this to a standard engine and see small improvements, but they work very well with a filter, exhaust & de-cat and this setup is seeing 1/4 mile times of 14.0/14.1secs @ 98mph so very quick cars!
If you wanna go for...
For 10bhp, easiest way is a de-cat (or sports cat), a decent exhaust system and an enclosed filter such as a Viper or BMC.
Warranty wise I asked at my local dealer and basic "bolt on" mods like an exhaust or a filter do not affect warranty, however a de-cat will so the K-Tec sports cat is the...
I am fully aware of how they work, but the flywheel figures they give are usually a little on the generous side and show much larger transmission losses than there actually are...
