Did all mk2 172s, even the early ones come with EBD or not?!
I know the first mk2s didnt have the ESP (traction) system fitted and wondered if these ones had EBD or not. If so, did mk1s have it as well then?
Also, when was the ESP fitted as standard?!
TIA
Yeah, I knew that...
I did not have a clue theyd ever done this and it must be mega rare!
How many ClioSport members have one?!
Aye, I left scarab green off as its not a standard colour.
What colours was the mk1 172 available in?!
As far as I knew...
Silver (most common)
Blue Metallic
Black
Yellow
That was it, or so I though until I found this >>>...
Some cars do it, some dont...
My Cup never did it originally, even with the dodgy (whining) gearbox on from new, but when they swapped it for a new one that does "clunk" every so often.
Ive still got all those figures from the RE day matey...
Can you send me your power & torque figures (every 500rpm) as per last time and Ill add them and send you the file!?
Unlikely seeing as how its the same gearbox (a couple of minor ratio changes) and the same clutch!
As for suspension, yes they should have that sorted as this is where a lot of the changes are...
In answer to your questions...
1. The mk1 is generally more reliable than the mk2 for some reason?! Things to look out for are the 4k buzz from the exhaust, frayed throttle cables, no gas in air-con and general stuff you look for on any used car.
2. Yes, they are as quick as people say...
Reasons why Id not go for 18s on a Cup...
additional weight
wreck the handling
increase the gearing
additional rolling resistance
slow the car down
etc...
Looks or performance & handling, its your call!
Same here...
Theres both a blue and a black one at my work and I preferred the blue myself.
However, I have a Cup so I am slightly colour biased, and the black one was filthy so wasnt a fair representation!
For a start its not Mondial Blue, its Arctic Blue and does look very similar, but its not exactly the same, so theres some saving grace!
The Illiad Blue of the mk2 V6 is near as damn it the same too, as is the blue of the Megane, and there are a lot of very similar colours out there...
You get what you pay for...
A carbon airbox such as a Viper, BMC or Maxogen will give better gains.
Of the 3 the BMC CDA is the best in terms of price vs performance!
