new rims in gloss black what products too use?

never tried the auto balm products but here fairly good reports. the mint rims I used on my winter wheel hubcaps and was still; present 4months on

new rims in gloss black what products too use?

If you want 3 to 6months then a temperature resistant wax like colli 476, fk1000, mint rims will do the job. if you want longer protection then look into the nano or quartz coatings i mentioned above. wheel cleaners arent overly needed on protected wheels as shampoo will remove the worst. It...

Had a chance to try out the rapid dirt shifter tonight. Car is still protected with toughcoat, beading is not very uniform but sheeting well. car rinsed with a normal hose, then rds sprayed undiluted liberally over all panels. Left to dwell for 3minutes before some areas looked lime they were...

new rims in gloss black what products too use?

That will keep them fairly clean, but won't remove iron or tar etc. Depends if you want to seal / protect them to make them easier to clean where all you'll need is shampoo like the rest of the car? ps rimwax is sh!t

new rims in gloss black what products too use?

Do you like to reguarly clean your wheels, if yes then a normal wheel cleaner and any wheel wax will suffice. if no, search for gtechniq C5 or cquartz. But these need PRECISE and PERFECT prep or else it won't bond properly

    Removing overspray

I've never machined it off, not sure if that is the best method. You can use firm or aggressive clay to remove it though. May just need a quick machine polish after to remove the marring

Feates172, dependant on size of car and how generous a dilution you have it set to, 1l in a snowfoam bottle should coat at least 4cars. jhead, mix up shampoo mix as clay lube if youre using that much. But I normal use a sponge to wet the panel then clay lube an area as I work. I wouldn't use...

Just a question about Iron X...

IronX is not a wheel cleaner, it is solely for removing iron fallout. it doesn't do a great job of cutting through the typical road grime and tar etc that you should be using a dedicated wheel cleaner or strong shampoo dilution before using an iron remover. If you use IX or other iron removers...

The amount I used citurs power I jumped in and bought 5l, so £7/l isn't bad, then in summer dusty conditions typically diluted 1:1 is more than adequate, £3.50/l even better. Colchester store had another 2 bottles left today. Still advertised at £3 but till price was £2.25. Their drying towels...

Just a question about Iron X...

I would normally have washed the wheels first before applying IX so that only engrained brake dust is left for the IX to react with.

'cliosport' has always worked for me including a recent order. gives same discount as DWX. Just mess about with capitals as it's case sensitive.

I'm still to try reload, and however much an improvement I was expecting to see it a little tighter and uniform from a fresh application.. at least the decon wash helped with the coating a little

Will do JD. But will have to be whilst the Mrs is out. I get major abuse if I'm deemed to be geeking over car washing, taking pictures earns extra geek points. I typically use CP 1:1 so costs are a little more comparable to neat RDS so will be interested to see a comparison.

will compare RDS to CP at the end of the week with a hose and pressure rinse. Spending next week at the coast so will be nice and salty / sandy on my return so another good test for them

Just emptied my local ASDA, they only had 3x bottles but still £2.25. Thought I'd take the opportunity to try their snow foam and spray on shine as they were reduced also

me personally 200ml max of CP for a full car, and that was on an Jag XF. the Focus typically just over 100ml. you really don't need to apply so much. Works well diluted 1:1 as well

Adam, what stuff do you have already? have you used a filler glaze and all in one type product, or pre wax cleanser before? the likes of tripple or rejuvenate will perform a lot better used with a DA. The AF kit is pretty decent as far as kits go, so won't see you go far wrong. Other option...

Two options, only these two please

I didn't play too much with glazes and machine use. But do you get much better results than say using a pre wax cleanser like lime prime when working a glaze? I found a PWC via DA would give a good mix of filling and correction

Two options, only these two please

It works fine, looks great. just let down by a slightly below average application. With so many good products on the market that perform well, for me it has to be nice to use. If it isn't it gets moved on. A good example of this is Zymol HD Cleanse.

Two options, only these two please

At this stage I think I'd side with Matthew on this. I'd reach for tripple for filling abilities than a dedicated glaze. It may be an all in one but the cleansing ability is an added bonus I'm glad of having. the added protection I've not found cause too much trouble to the LSP durability that...

amigo leaves a nice finish, but thought it was a bit rubbish application wise by hand. I hear it's better via DA. BH is a general all round winner IMO

    Auto finesse illusion worth it?

No show wax is really worth it, but I still bought it, awesome wax in every area apart from durability. If you want a durable wax, stay clear. if you can cope with regular / monthly applications then great, or maybe top HD wax with. As Kev asked, what do you want from a wax?
