Not SNH or HD as being solventy will affect the tripple underneath.
I can't decide between toughcoat and Z5. I know how good the tripple / TC combo looks, but thinking the filling ability of Z5 will leave a real deep glow to match TC but maybe a little more durability if you don't get any...
Is that 2 dents in the front of the bonnet?
if so, I watched a couple of paintless dent removal videos on YouTube and you can get access to that point and massage them out.
But the finish is quite different between the two IMO. GT IS very clear and crisp, whereas toughcoat will give a warming glow as that of a wax. Colour of car dictates my choice between C1.5 and TC at the moment. Once the C1.5 is finished ill get C2v3 and compare.
Ages, first panel requires 2sprays onto a foam app to coat a panel, after that only 1 spray on the applicator per panel apart from the bonnet or roof.
couple of layers, hen an additional layer per month will see it last ages still
Toughcoat is pretty un-fussy about what it goes over, will be fine over SRP.
Your routine sounds fine. Couple of coats a few hours between, or once a month provided it still comes up clean after a wash
It is wax and sealant safe, should not mark trim if left to dry either. I lo e the stuff and typically use it every wash. Its aggressive at removing dirt, nothing else. As said the Ph rating is only part of it, it doesnt make it an aggressive or risky product to use.
Ph rating is only part of the storey. Autofinesse citrus power is highly alkaline iirc, yet safe on waxes and any finishes. Think it has a similar Ph to oven cleaner, yet that isnt safe to use.
although preferable if neutral, a lot more goes into it to decide how aggressive or safe they are
I like AG and AF glass cleaners. 3m is highly rated but I've never used it. clearly menthol wasn't bad.it shouldnt streak if used properly on washed glass
Some of the AG stuff is alright, but typically you'll find better from other manufacturers. for example the bumper and trim gel looks good, but lasts 3minutes. Compare that to revive and it's world's ahead
I know it's on C5'd wheels, but the demon shine rapid dirt shifter started to lift brake dust very quickly before I'd had a chance to pressure rinse. Yet to try it on unprotected wheels though
forget gloss enhancing shampoo's, they don't do a great deal and affect the properties of your wax or sealant. those highlighted are all very good shampoos that will not degrade existing waxes.
after washing, get a quality drying towel. i4detailing uber yellow is awesome.
then look into...
I finished washing the car at 9.30 this morning. was still too hot by the time I had finished and has left water marks on most panels, luckily nothing major that a QD wipedown won't sort out but by the time I had finished that it was too hot to do any more to it.
Correction, yes I'm very bored with trying my upmost not to treat my car like it should be in a bubble.
keeping it well protected and shiny is good enough for me at the moment.
Sorry Toby, was only meant in jest. was more along the lines you seem to be willing to spend a little more to get a better product. I apologise. Reading back I didn't type want I actually meant.
Hadn't realised you'd used the EP before, not a machine i liked personally. what did you use?
If the internals are anything like the EP800 I'd rather pay more. I didn't like it at all.
still don't think you can argue with the 3m machine. But if I had the money to be buying an E92 I'd have a Flex
