The new ones look A LOT better than the old ones
I hate looking at them with no washers - it's so easy for the rubber to wear down, and without welding they slide all over the place
I think the new ones should be fine - even if they don't need pressing in though the old ones will need...
James do I remember right that you're getting plexi windows made up for your car?
If so do you have a supplier local? I wanna ditch the glass in the Clio over winter for something lighter, preferably with some vents in the rear windows
Yep as Tom said - home sharing makes your music appear on all your devices - or I'd recommend the iCloud Match service
It puts all your music in the iCloud on your account - then you don't have to have it on your iPad/iPhone - but when you want it you can stream it from iCloud or download it...
I've got 3 now - utterly superb
2tb of movies/tv in a network drive - itunes running on my office mac mini - can watch all the movies/tv in 1080P HD on any of the 3 tv's in the house.
It's a must have!
Crikey you must have been stood near me a fair bit - I was with the AMD lads with the Golf
I took my 70-200 but due to the rain I got hardly any shots, mostly just people in and around the pits
Some cracking shots mate - love the angle of #4
400mm p**n!
I did ask the guy who did my cage but he said Leeds is further than he really likes to go on a mobile callout but he'd think about it - not heard anything back but i'll nudge him next time we speak mate :(
I think the problem here is that the belt is probably the wrong one, or manufactured with tolerances out and too short. But you really should have rang them (and not winged that they couldn't be contacted on a weekend) and let them resolve it
I've dealt with them a few times and they've sent...
James - jump in with me mate, I won't be able to race in the Tin Tops next year so I'm gonna go and watch them all and become the official FF-Racing/Burpspeed photagrapher/cheering squad lol
I'm sorry that came across wrong - I didn't mean he has no knowledge, I meant that the way people big him up as being an absolute expert with Clio's is a bit ermmm weird - yes he worked for cosworth and prodrive and omex in the past - but that makes him no more of a clio expert than the next...
This is looking awesome - I need to do that to my engine loom as well but haven't plucked up the courage yet
I really should crack on - I've got a full spare loom in the garage so not much can really go wrong lol
I'm not echoing other peoples LOL - hence the "from what I know"- if I was echoing other peoples experiences I would have said "from what I've read"
I KNOW of several other cars that have been fixed elsewhere, remapped to gain 20-30% over a TDF map, etc.. etc..
But yeah - not for a forum...
How do you know I don't know him - or have used him at a previous job?
You're just making a massive assumption that what I say is purely just based on what I read about James' hassles.
Pot, kettle, black
No they haven't - but I'd have no problem letting them and I know I'd get what I paid for
It's hardly "swings & roundabouts" when the lad has been ripped off by at least £4k+ for parts paid for and never received. Twattish behaviour.
I also don't really understand all this "motorsport...
It's easy with a g clamp and longer bolt
Put the longer bolt in and tighten to pull the bracket up - then put a g clamp on the bracket to hold it in place, remove longer bolt and put proper bolt in - job done
Took me no more than 30mins to do them both
It's really weird - I have the exact same experience
Ktech have ALWAYS got stuff to me insanely quickly, offered lots of advice and generally been brilliant
Chrispy's project thread was the source of inspiration for everything I've done lol - at one point I had pics of his car up in the...
Yeah will do mate - gonna drag the old girl out the garage on Saturday and start taking pics of everything I want rid of
I'd ideally like to do a swap for 1.2's but I can always sell the 2118's and leave her on axel stands till I find some new wheels :)
Yeah i'm still kinda tempted to MOT it and whack 6 months tax on for the summer days, but UK roads just piss me off these days. Too many people who drive like morons and nowhere to have any fun.
I'll see what state it's in around March when the MOT is due and see if I can be bothered lol
My oreca is the cat back 2.25" version - I had a 2.25" sports cat made up for it
I don't know if I need to go up to 2.5" but I really want a custom exhaust. I want something that sits higher up and cut into the bumper and ideally quieter than the Oreca as it does make my ears ring a bit on...
Hahah KW road suspension, spaghetti wiring system, k-tec exhaust faked to look like a race system - it's unbelievable
A lot of people questioned my sanity building my car entirely myself from scratch - but I find it hard to trust garages any more, at least if I fit something myself I know...
UPDATE
Right.. it's been a weird few months - I've been very VERY close to selling the Clio as I've been using it as a daily commuter to work and sick to death of being deaf, numb and it kangarooing through traffic at 15mph...
However after a bit of thinking, planning and advice from mates...
I just want to say - you're a VERY bad influence on me
I've been out this week and bought a Passat TDi 4 motion as a tow car - and tomorrow I start stripping the Clio
Bilsteins are getting sold, 2118's sold for lighter alloys, windows are getting binned for plexi, stereo and speakers getting...
I doubt you'd get £600 for it mate - not being a 13"
I just sold a 15" macbook pro 2.8ghz with 8gb of ram for £520. I suspect you'd get more around the £500 mark
