I'd check that they know about the VOSA advisory first but mine failed on rear's being very low and I showed them the VOSA advisory and they said fair enough but still too low
Free'd the rear caliper sliders up, rebuilt them, loosened the bias adjuster under the car and then cable tied it in...
This would be ideal as I assume the high price is mostly because the rear units are quite complex and I'm not really bothered about an "all in one" coilover rear - I don't see much advantage of it unless I want to go lower than it currently is but I'm happy with the height
Timescales for...
I suspect you could make the AST's fit PMS top mounts because they just run a little shim inside the joint - I think James had a new shim made to fit
But those AST's are 182 fitment - so I'd have to change to 182 hubs which is a bit of a ball ache and extra money
I did look at the Spax setup...
That's cool - if I get a year out of them doing amateur days I'll be happy
I'll have a much bigger budget next winter to enter it into sprints/tin tops so I can always sell the KW's on for some AST's in a years time
I'm pretty restricted by budget at the moment - £8/900 is about the most I...
Lewis is selling his AST's but they're 182 fitment so I'd have to swap hubs. And they're pretty old.
I'm conflicted between the hassle of that and the age - or 3 month old KW's that fit straight on :(
Realistically I'm not gonna push as hard as you tin top guys do - I'll be doing 6-10 track days next year, and a trip to monaco/spa/ring in it
2nd hand AST's are very rare and new are £1600
The KW V2's are £800
I'm hoping they're good enough for track day fun on R888's and also for the...
Right,
Let's have it out with the people who actually do track days/sprints/tin tops
I've been offered some KW V2's pretty cheap, and I want rid of my bilsteins as not being adjustable I really struggle to get the car setup right
Anyone got any experience with KW's? I was hoping for...
The clio or the Passat? LOL
Cheers mate
The bilsteins are off at the moment and it's back on standard suspension. Need to find some adjustable coilovers for it over winter, and some better tyres. Need to send it down to Fred too for cambelt and a few other bits. Then buy a trailer...
I don't care how much a month it is or where you live - I am sooo jealous
If I could get an aston martin for £400 a month I'd rip someones hand off even if it was rented.
Nothing in the world would beat a cruise down to Monaco at the weekend in that!!
That company always seems really dodgy to me - drive past them every day on way to work, just a generic office building. The registered address is in the scummiest place in Lincoln
Bit weird
Just go for it then mate - or as one of my old bosses said "suck it and see"
They're all pretty much the same, and free, and take about 5 mins to install. Give one a go and see how you like it
Your about page on here said otherwise until you edited it.
Also your profile on steam says otherwise
And your profile on 206info
Also...
And you setup a proxy and subdomain on swbroadband.co.uk for someone here ->...
Owncloud is ok, used it very briefly once but ended up just using dropbox as didn't see any point re-inventing the wheel
They're not really complex - it's just a client app that copies the file to your server.
Question is though is you're hosting backed up or if a hard drive goes pop do you...
Yeah I was considering charging mine over winter but the thought of having to put a standard loom back in, and inlets back on and blah blah put me off lol
That's half true - it's just the 2 TDC sensor wires that splice into the standard loom BUT you are left with all your old loom laying around the engine bay and the dashboard lit up like a christmas tree and an MOT failure
If I was buying from new I'd get a GEN90 - plug and play into the...
They have a full set of videos - even shows you how to balance them.
I watched the videos on a Friday night - and fitted the whole setup in 4hours on the Saturday lol
I hate to say it - but if you're dipping it to try and get the weight of the shell down - I think I'd do the cheaper option and have some of the excessive roll cage removed instead :)
I'm thinking the same as Ryan, if someone brakes a bit late and turns your shell into a banana that dipping...
I've been making a spreadsheet of parts I want for mine (longer trumpets, new injectors, another remap, cams, cambelt, dephaser, plexi windows, kw/ast coilovers) and really struggling not to just strip it for parts and buy something like this -...
What chip said
Jenvey's over AT Power every time
I bought my Jenvey kit 2nd hand it took less than 4 hours to strip all the old inlet stuff off, fit the jenveys, wire the omex in and start the car lol
I'd have a crack yourself it's fairly easy to fit, if you order a proper loom from omex for a...
I wouldn't buy new arms and then rip the brand new bushes out to fit powerflex lol - why not try to buy some 2nd hand ones from one of the cars being broken on here?
Then you could sell yours on to someone else doing the same
Not sure I'd trust after market arms - i'd probably want renault...
