You get the power @ wheels, then use the transmission losses to work out power @ fly.
In the case of most fwd cars its ~15% so...
142.5bhp = 85% (of bhp @ fly) thus >>> [(142.5 / 85) x 100] = 167.6bhp @ fly
Or, the Puma Racing method:
[(bhp @ wheels + 10) / 0.9] = bhp @ fly...
The fuel warning light comes on when theres about a gallon left in the tank and the miles to fill up display goes to ---- at this point.
Can get ~45 litres in if I fill up as soon as the light is on and the tank holds 50 litres, so about a gallon.
Probably just dont take new customers with mods, I know others are like that!
Anyway, I just got a quote off their website and it was a f*cking rip off for me, so I aint gonna be going with them...
Ok, I really do not get this!
Just been to the Liverpool Victoria site for a quote (my insurance is up next month anyway) and it clearly says the following >>>
We cannot insure:
Motor cycles, vans, pick ups, minibuses.
Cars which have not been manufactured for the...
Good things come to those that wait...
I am also planning to keep my Cup for a while, so I didnt wanna just kick its t!ts on from day one and then have problems in later life.
Run it in mate, I did...
The book says no more than 3500rpm (or 80mph) for the first 1000km (625 miles) and I stuck to this.
At York Dragway last weekend with only 2700 miles on the clock I ran the 1/4 mile in 14.5secs @ 94mph, so this cr@p about ragging them from new makes them quicker than...
The seats are the same underneath, so you could just get the leather/alcantara covers from Renault and fit them onto your existing seat frames.
Might cost a LOT of money though...
Well, 142.5bhp @ wheels = approx 170bhp @ fly so pretty much spot on!
The 172 in the name is 172bhp (DIN) and is actually ~170hp in UK terms, so your car is not underpowered, its as it should be.
BP Ultimate is only 97 RON mate, so you were told porkies!
Use Optimax as thats at least 98...
Will just be an ECU software update, its quite common...
What age is your 172 mate?!
When I had my 106 GTi that had the ECU flashed to the latest software and made the car smoother and seemed quicker, so likely to be the same thing here.
This is true, but...
The power & torque curves will be dropping off fast at the higher revs, so theres actually no point/need to sing it round into the red in the higher gears.
Also, to be able to pull a 172 to a "genuine" 156mph on a level road will take a lot of doing!
Correct...
It just warns you that youre approaching the limiter, hence why it comes on earlier when the car is cold(er) and the rev limit is restricted!
Its on the left of the rev counter on the mk1 (if fitted) and its a better place than where it is oin a mk2/Cup!
To be honest, I dont even use it as I cant feckin see it!!!
