Definitely a snapped spring, happened to the dci yesterday when pulling on the drive, lucky as a few mins before i was on the motorway going at pace:dead:
As said though don't drive it until its sorted out.

In all honesty i can't see the grooves really helping that much, But would be good to hear feedback from you as to whether they help or not. have you tried any of them RC5's or 6's or whatever they are called
Just get some grooved discs then. just don't drive with your windows open because all the extra dispersed gases that come off due to the grooves may harm your health and taste rank.;)
There was a thread not long back with a few having the same problem but with GAZ coilovers maybe worth a look to see if they sorted it.
could it not be that the spring seats are flat with no spring locater so the springs may be twanging as they rotate slightly?? whap a bit of grease on the...
Fork located in the release bearing correctly?
Come to think of it no there shoudn't be any play iirc. you can move the fork to the left but it should be solid when moved to the right
City powder coating is £20 a wheel.
But as Dan said you also have the wheel specialist (laptab) on the tyburn road at double the price of city but i highly recommend them.
