Best tyres Ive ever had were Bridgestone S-02s, but they dont make them anymore and were expensive anyway, so Ive got Toyos now...
They grip well, but not as good as the S-02s in the wet (still good), but seem to be holding up a lot better than the S-02s did and are much cheaper, so Id buy...
Ok, say I buy a 6 month old Cup off someone...
Whats the deal with the warranty???
I assume its fully transferable and I get the remainder of the 3 years?!
How do I/we go about doing this?!
Minus back seats too, so with them in its probably bang on...
Thing is, some of the other times like my Rallye & a VTS seem way off, going off the times weve seen in real life.
p.s. Paddy - may be a Clio owner soon! ;)
LOL
Some are utter tosh and one example is the 306 Rallye (car Ive just sold) which according to that site is 16.3secs, yet my standard Rallye ran 15.1secs on my first event!
Then look at the Saxo VTS and Craggys times! ;)
Pinch... of... salt...
I agree...
Get the tracking done, but have the full 4 wheel allignment done, as they will lock the steering wheel in the centre position, then adjust the tracking to suit, then it will be spot on.
Not too bad then, I am Lancashire.
How serious I am depends on the price, how long it takes to get one, will it be registered in my name first and also if my car gets sold soon (maybe tonight), plus I have other cars I am considering.
But, for the money nothing can touch a Cup!
Where are you in the UK then???
Been offered one for £11k new, but needs to be registered in my mates name first, then I can get theRenault family discount...
Since when???
All Ive been told so far is that the R Sport ECU will not work in a 172 only a Cup, as it aint got the same ECU.
To do with controlling the climate & other stuff the Cup aint got though...
Does anyone know for SURE please???
Aaaah... but that was a common fault onm the Pug mate, mine did it and it was just the arial for the transponder in the steering column.
Cheap & easy to sort, but on a new Clio this shouldnt happen!
Rallye-King -
You know the score...
Thats why I am having a re-think on the whole "next car" thing and as much as I have always wanted an Impreza and would still like to, I am now wondering if its really the best choice!
Will be doing a lot of thinking & a lot of test driving now, plus...
Its like an annual event for me & my mates, so yeah Ill be there (again) for the "full" event!
Way things are going though, I aint got a clue what car Ill have by then!
Sit down and work out the "real" costs to keep one on the road...
Fuel, tyres, servicing, etc... it all ads up!
Not that Im discounting one though, but some serious consideration needs to be done before I take the plunge!
