Not to my knowledge...
My mate had his EvoVI for over 2 years, running about 350bhp and did loads of trackdays in it, but there were no issues with the gearbox.
Very, VERY quick off the mark and 1st & 2nd are a real kick up the @rse, but in 5th gear at say 80mph, if you floor it, its not as quick as I expected.
Dont get me wrong it still bl00dy shifts, but it was a standard UK car, so needs modding. Potential is there though!
Brakes were poo though...
LOL
Im driving it in Oldham actually...
Anyway, went to see my mate at the Renault dealer tonight and he said I can have a Cup for £11k or a 172 for £12.3k so I just wanted to get an exact price.
Whats the cheapest people have seen "pukka" UK Cups and/or 172s for then???
Would...
Get a IV mate, as they are different to a III and a LOT better!
The I, II & III are all the same and based on a Proton, but the IV was the first of a new generation and the IV, V, VI & Makinen all use the same shell, transmission, etc... so parts are more common. plus they share the same...
LOL
Use me as the guinea pig eh?! ;)
Actually, a lad I know off PGAC has an RB5 now, after a well modded 106 GTi, so Ive sent him a PM asking him loads of stuff, so when I hear back Ill forward it on to you...
p.s. this was an original Evo on a 92 K plate!
Not my cup of tea really >>>

Have already been for a thrash in a Cup and I know how great they are, but I may just get an Impreza for a while, just so Ive had one, then get a Cup...
The RB5 is superb though!
Ok, I "was" gonna get a new Cup, even got the Rallye for sale, but I have been side-tracked and gone all Impreza (again) so do I get a Clio or a nice RB5 Ive seen?!
I know the Cup will be newer, cheaper to run, better on fuel, but... :D
Opinions?!
Just checked the NCAP ratings...
Current shape Clio (2000 Car) - 4 Stars
Older Shape Clio (1996 car) - 2 Stars
Thats bl00dy good for the current model then and it shows here!
