Not to my knowledge... My mate had his EvoVI for over 2 years, running about 350bhp and did loads of trackdays in it, but there were no issues with the gearbox.

Yeah, RB5 is a top choice. An Evo is just far too expensive to buy, run, insure, etc... My mate had a VI and it cost a fortune!

Very, VERY quick off the mark and 1st & 2nd are a real kick up the @rse, but in 5th gear at say 80mph, if you floor it, its not as quick as I expected. Dont get me wrong it still bl00dy shifts, but it was a standard UK car, so needs modding. Potential is there though! Brakes were poo though...

Get a IV mate, as they are different to a III and a LOT better! The I, II & III are all the same and based on a Proton, but the IV was the first of a new generation and the IV, V, VI & Makinen all use the same shell, transmission, etc... so parts are more common. plus they share the same...

My mate had a modded VI and I loved it, but running costs in an Evo are waaay more than a UK spec Impreza.

4 door... Basically an STi shell (stronger), with a UK spec engine and a few other tweaks, which make them great!

Have already been for a thrash in a Cup and I know how great they are, but I may just get an Impreza for a while, just so Ive had one, then get a Cup... The RB5 is superb though!

Ok, I "was" gonna get a new Cup, even got the Rallye for sale, but I have been side-tracked and gone all Impreza (again) so do I get a Clio or a nice RB5 Ive seen?! I know the Cup will be newer, cheaper to run, better on fuel, but... :D Opinions?!

But longer gearing, less low end grunt and a tendancy to understeer...

Just checked the NCAP ratings... Current shape Clio (2000 Car) - 4 Stars Older Shape Clio (1996 car) - 2 Stars Thats bl00dy good for the current model then and it shows here!

After this Top Gear lark and NCAP... What rating is a current model Clio then?! Just that this Cup has stood up pretty well for a 50mph impact! :o
