Either Mintex M1144s, Ferrodo DS2000s or Pagids are what you want...
Ive run all 3 of these on track and they work!
Just make sure you get some uprated brake fluid though, as the higher temps the brakes now get too can cook the standard stuff!
I used Mintex C-Tech and so did my mate in...
Well, a wheel & tyre is approx 15kg, so multiply by 4 and youll have a rough idea.
However, all wheels & tyres weigh different amounts, so youd have to get one weighed...
Yeah, I know mate and we really struggled to find a suitable stretch of raod when we went playing with an AP22.
I used to live in Sheffield too, so I know how hard it is to find a road like that! ;)
Forget 0-60 as its too slow to get a proper guage of the cars performance...
You only use the 2 gears and the time is heavily affected by the start in a 0-60 run, so can you guys possibly do some 0-100 runs please?!
That will show how they really perform. ;)
If you are paying list price, or near list price for it then Id cancel and go get a better deal somewhere else, like an £11k pre-reg that you can have almost straight away and cheap!
Mine is making 151bhp @ wheels (about 180bhp @ fly) with just a panel filter so slightly more power and it weighs less than a GTi-6, so youd struggle to beat my time of 14.83secs, as thats beat other 172s, a CTR, etc... would be close though.
I had to be really nasty to the car on that run...
Yeah, the 106 (& Saxo) cabin is a bit small, but I am 62" with size 11 feet anf I never had a problem in the 2 years of ownership...
As for the GTi-6 ot Rallye, go for the Rallye as I have one now and it is quicker than any GTi-6 I know (including modded) and my 1/4 mile times speak for...
Id say 106 GTi...
Not as quick as either of the Clios, but its not all about straightline speed.
The handling of the 106 has to be experienced to be believed and the fun factor is awesome. Still quick enough though and with a revvy engine, close box and small lightweight car its a great...
Waste of time...
I heard all the comments before hand, but I ended up with one anyway (was donated to me) and I gave it a go on my 306 Rallye. My main aim was to get more MPG as claimed, as it aint that great on mine.
Well, it improved my mpg by 1 or 2 if driven carefully, but generally no...
Yeah, its a very recent addition, as is the option of silver paint, so probably not in the brochure (aint in the one I have), but if you go to http://www.renault.co.uk/www.renault.co.uk and configure a new Clio Cup, those two options are definately available...
Yeah, for £650 it aint bad...
Will be slightly cheaper for me too, as I can get a percentage discount off the total cost as my mate is the sales manager.
Just worried about weight, potential power loss (due to driving the aircon) and the possible change of ECU.
Same here...
Ive still got an R5 GTT that can run about 180bhp on full boost and weighs 830kg, so that is a f*cking quick car, but no ABS and Ive never had a problem.
My 106 GTi was the first car to have ABS and the 306 Rallye has it too, but I wouldnt not buy a Cup for the lack of ABS.
As...
ok, heres one for ya...
How heavy is the climate control system in a Clio and what weight will it add to a Cup if it was chosen as an option?!
Also, I know the R-Sport ECU is only for the Cup and mainly due to the 172 & Cup having a different ECU to begin with. But, if you had climate on a...
