As you don't know what a port is. I STRONGLY advise you don't go ported. Just don't put any holes in the box containing the sub and make it as tight as possible (few leaking places as is physically ammendable)
Rough idea of the cables for you!
Red = perm live
Yellow = ignition live
Black = Ground
Pink = Carphone ( i get this nonsense from haynes i swear :o )
Violet = ABS connection of some type?
Other connector
Beige = LH front ( don't know if positive or neagtive )
Pink = LH front ( opposite to...
Amping speakers makes quite a big differnece. It depends greatly on the efficieny of the speaker of course.
But typically amping components, increases fidelity due to the HU not having to do all the work (less chance of clipping), along with being louder due to providing 30-150WRMS, unlike most...
If not just do a PD divider.
Multiple of 7 ohms on the top (between 12v+ and ipod connection) and multiple of 5 ohms on the bottom (between ipod connection and gnd). Use resistors of at least 3 watt. Did it on an old charger i made for a portable sound system.
My MPG has dropped. Couldn't tell you how much by... but it's enough. Not a huge deal though. I have 70 kg of battery in the boot, and 2 x 12"ers and 2 amps and wood, and cable... damn 8kg of 0guage!, so were talking 120kg easy!!!
No mate it's right bown the bottom right towards the front of the engine (obviously on gearbox.) It's about 8" long and about 1" wide. Like a ribbon cable.
It shouldnt need uprating. It's thick as 0 guage me thinks!
Earth to chassis??? You uprated that? And double check you have all connections...
So this voltage is present on the wiring harness that goes into the HU?
ALL these voltages you state i assume you're getting from there?
If you are but you HU still doesn't turn on, you've blown it!
High pitch vibrations?
No such thing really....
Resonance is the name of the panel movement.
Caused by bass frequencies moving the panels.
It's nothing to worry about really. The only way i believe you can eliminate it is deadening.
Dynamat extreme = top notch, so is Second Skin damplifier pro...
Yeh, cheers buddy. I wanted the exact dimensions, as i was goig to buy a sub around that size. Also relative to amount of size there (cu ft)
But thanks anyway
I know its sort of circular. Is it 18"? And what's the depth? So from the bottom of the pan to the boot level...mk2 ph2
Can't get to mine due to excessive MDF and sub problems! Lol.:rolleyes:
Want to get rid of SPL build, and get a make a nice SQ stealth one, so need to fill that spare whell well!
Dad's always ranting on about his going missing. We worked it out, they disappear whenever he takes it in for a service ( at bloody merc ).
He went yampy at them once over it!
Yeh just check the voltage drop if you have a multimeter. Run it full whack ( well before clip ) on a 0db test tone (realmofexcursion.com) Then measure voltage across the battery, then across the amp power terminals. If the values are only a few 0.1's out then thats great! Power supply is ok. If...
Yeh thats the bolt i used. VERY tight the thread is, and you need to remove the paint on the bare chassis, not just on the bar that goes across!
The bolt also gets a bit sticky in palces. But be persistent. And what i ddi was coat the entire bolt in WD40 and the thread i9nto the chassis. Goes in...
There's probably a million of these in search but i'll give it a go!

I thought a small amount of interference was inherent in the alternator. During the rectification stage not all the "peaks and troughs" so to speak technical, are removed, and so you can get whine there.
I coudl well be VERY wrong, but i read that soemwhere a LONG time ago!
I found the bolts for...
Make sure u have radio codes!!! oh dear panic over...
Just remove the negative then press the horn or hazards or anything really, even turn on ignition. That will then hopefully discharge the caps, so you shouldnt even have to wait 20 mins :)
Do both to be extra cautious!
All this about both...
Okies, thanks. Yeh they are brakes. If it was engine i'd give it a go. As you can stop when you started but without brakes... well.... Suppose there's always a handbrake ;)
Ok, sure. So a set of new discs should fix it?
Anywhere cheap for discs? And easy to replace? or mechanic jobber??
Do my pads at same time? Rough costs?
I know you love answering questions fo the young and unknowledgable :rasp::o
