As said before mate...... show car (sound car) i do compete in it... and will compete more when it's walled.
I don't mind that i lose performance..... its a bloody 1.2 anyway... and i dont mind that its lesss MPG... it will only get driven ~1000 miles a year when walled. And currently only does...
Sound car mate, i know performance i suffer now, lol! Gonna wall it ultimatly making the 200kg. But want to get the stuff bit by bit...
So new shocks and springs? Whats the spacing on a 1.2 8v for the shocks then? Also what do you advise i get to hack this weight?
Yup... it's the bar that has a couple of loop things through it. In the boot right at the back just behind the rear seats. It's covered by a plastic moulded piece. Pull that out then this will expose the bar. I'd personally remove the bar, ( 2x torx and hexagonal) bolts. Then sand down onto the...
I use the iso bar bolt to fix mine... i sanded it down completely though. And sprayed it all over in copper grease spray! I have circa 150 amps going through this.... you must be bare onto the chassis though, not the bar!
And just get a multimeter on it... from maplins £5 then put it on DC mode...
As far as i know yeh... i have a authentique and it does not have a dash display!
My mate has a dynamics that does... and one other mate has a expression and that does!
Yeh, fair play bro, some people dislike the none norm see! To be legit run a new loom as said already!
Make sure u have a kill switch though!
Best bet if it were me would be get a little relay ~5 amp.
Then run a small +ve to switch then to relay then to gnd. Then switched side of relay run the...
Nope, you guys misread it... he DOES have the clock in dash!!!!!!
He was saying about the manual going on about authentiques that don't have the clock in dash!
Ermm....... well that as well!
Nahh, 2 x batteries 35kg.
And 2 x GT5 subs ~40kg and wood, fastenings and cables!!! So circa 125kg.
As i said how will i cope when i up this to 200kg????
The stock suspension wont handle this surely???
I use weight to stick mine down. Plus its wedged......
On a more serious note, my old sub only 1 cu ft box, was fixed down using bolts through the floor pan. ONLY SAFE WAY TO FIX A 20KG weight down IMO!
Measure voltage across the amp terminals best bet is amp going into protection, due to low voltages. Crap amp though if it's cutting back in every 5 seconds. Check earth!!!!!
Ok,
As some of you know the clio now is cruising with a fair whack of kit in the boot. Currently 125Kg worth.
This will increase to 200KG soon when i ultimatly wall it.
The problem is, stock suspension is suffering.
When i lose the weight the car doesn't sit as high as it used to. Am i making...
Fully boxing in your mid bass speakers will make them sound pap.
They are typically designed to work in 2 cu ft of air ( that of the door )
And MDF baffle is a piece of mdf attached directly to the METAL of the door (means cutting away the existing plastic) to provide a tighter fit, ensuring...
It's not, but it is however double skinned. So if you have gon in at a mad angle you would have gone between the 2 layers. Make sure the driver is perpendicular to the body when aiming at the cabin.
Give it a go, should be fine! As it's only a 10" thats not as bad as i thought, i thought it was a 12 see!
If it does sound like it could kick some more then just rip apart some pillows!
Had a similar build to this in my clio once... Before bass dominated my life!
As the man says above. Alpine are very very good for HU's Even there cheap stuff is top notch!
Pioneer are having some bad problems latly with earth tracks, i believe this is fixed in their late 08 models though!
The alpine x100 is very good if you have an ipod you will use all the time!
I have...
Yeh thats a nice install. Little small for a GT4. But will still be very good. Did you wadd the hell out of that box, If you didn't get some tesco value pillows, rip them apart and stuff the box to the brim with it. Then sink the sub back in. Will produce better bass guaranteed!
You require venting to outside if you still want to use non sealed.Better to get a sealed one and use a battery box. It's a lot of hassell really. Must you move it to the boot?
But lack cone area, when he wants SPL more cone area would be better IMO, as more volume means lower tuning which results in diminished SPL and better SQ!
Grab the bonnet release cable grommit from inside, and yank it right out!
the use a screwdriver to make guide hole in this (use above the release cable)
15mm^2 thats nothing! i run 0guage (50mm^2) through mine! I did make a new one though :rasp:.
Then just get a small glass of soapy water, dip...
Sorry... i chat sh1t. This is one for the 2005 onwards models (mk3)

You can use 4 gauge cabling (roughly 20mm^2)
You can buy it from hellfrauds and pay a ton for it £7 a meter... or you can buy it from CAD... or welding supplier or anywhere really. Don't forget you only need the positive as you connect the negative to earth! Will need about 5 meters to get you...
My old box ( 18 x 36 x 15 )
Or another combination

Hello!
Lol, ok... max boot dimensions whilst still able to mount amplifier onto the back of the box (or the rear bench seat) are... 36" x 18" x 15" thats W x H X D.
You can go upto my new box size... hmmm..... yup thats 36" x 22" (risky 23") x 15".
However with the larger box you will have all...
