Making some good progress. Unfortunately the new exhaust mount you have purchased won’t last five mins before it collapses and the exhaust is rattling again. You either need to DIY upgrade the one you have just bought or buy an upgraded one from the likes of BTT Motorsport.
All Clio rear window seals look like that. As someone else said, that is unlikely to be your issue as the windows are bonded in.
We have all chased leaks on Clios and it is a real pain but if you persevere you will get to the bottom of it.
Proper diagnosis is a two or three man job, a hose and...
Id be interested to see what an insurance company says about these prices. If you wrote your car off, is this the amount your Insurer will give you for the car? Im sure when I was insuring my 172 Cup the agreed value was something like £800!
I think it could mate. The fact that it is lauded as one of the best hot hatches ever means there will always be a demand.
What else is available for this money which is a similar proposition?
Good luck with the sale of the BG. My opinion is you are selling too cheap but it should hopefully mean you sell it with minimal hassle.
Looks to be an extremely good car for someone 👍🏻
I think that if something is your pride and joy, you will always worry about it getting damaged, regardless of how much it cost or how it looks.
I bought my 172 Cup as a daily run about, something that I could park anywhere and not care about. Unfortunately, as soon as you start tidying the...
Yes, they arent cheap but if you are going for originality then they are a must in my opinion. Someone who is handier than me would be able to reproduce these at a fraction of the cost I reckon. There probably isnt much demand for them though.
Possibly a cheeky suggestion but if you are looking to spend 10k why not make @Mbeau an very healthy offer for his Cup? Or have you seen the Cup AM Performance are selling? It looks worth a second look.
I think a 182 at 10 grand would have to be as near as dammit to a brand new car for me to consider. The 172 "sounds" good but is extremely pricey also. Id definitely be interested to hear what the current owners say about what hopgop has dug up on the car. Of course you should be HPI'ing any...
Ha ha, not polished it in a wee while so was happy to see it like that !
If the issue happened more frequently then I’m sure SWR could fix it no problem. I’ll just need to wait and see what happens but I’m almost hoping it gets worse so it can be diagnosed.
Cheers man.
Quick update since I decided not to put the Cup up for sale.
It passed its MOT with flying colours which was no surprise really as I’m as proactive as I can be with any little issues etc.
The only thing that needed attention pre MOT was the rear number plate light as it was on the blink and...
Yeah, it does doesn't it. It never sits constant at 1500 revs but the fact that the revs flare at all makes me think it could be related.
I reckon ill just need to wait and see if it gets worse. Dealing with an issue that I cant replicate at will is always difficult!
Looking for some pointers please guys. I appreciate these things are difficult to diagnose but here goes anyway.
My 172 Cup has started cutting out when cold. Basically, I’ll start it up in the morning with the intention of letting it warm up. After around minute or so the engine just stops...
