I think you would be wise to place a heatshield between the exhaust and tank. I know the standard exhaust on my Cup gets pretty hot during normal road use. I think finding any heatshield that is in good nick for a 172 or 182 can prove difficult.
I think some people, especially "collectors" cannot see past the low mileage cars. I think this is simply because they know deep down they are never actually going to use the car, rather it will sit in a garage, barely turning a wheel from year to year. They just want to be able to say that...
I dont see much wrong with the Washer blanks.
I think with that mileage there is no doubt the car is worth a lot of money.
You simply have to MOT the car or there is absolutely no way you will realise the full potential, value wise.
That’s the steering rack mate.
If you have a Mk2 Clio then you definitely have a middle drain hole. They arent the easiest to locate but there are a lot of threads on here with good pics and also on YouTube.
Its very likely these drain holes are your culprit but I suppose you also need to take...
Looking for recommendations for good seat covers for the front seats of my 172 Cup please. I do a lot of running and cycling in the Hills and regularly come back to the car wet and muddy.
At present I’ve got some generic e bay specials which are actually ok for the £10 each they cost but I...
Depending on what you are looking for, check out Renomotive on FB. Stu is based in Fife and has a shed full of (mostly used) Clio parts.
I also use SWR and the guys are top knotch.
Sounds like a door sensor is on the blink or something similar, i.e. the door thinks its closed when its not and vice versa. Im actually sure there is a section on central locking and troubleshooting in the Manual. Well, there is on a Mk2.
Its great to see the time and effort you have put into your car. Definitely worth it in the long run when you have a totally reliable, rust free Clio. They are so much more interesting to drive than most modern cars today.
My other car is an A4 Avant but its pretty much the Family car so my...
Really struggling to think of an interesting Estate car around 5-6k to replace the Clio.
I’ve also spent a lot of time and money getting the Clio to a point where is in a really good state which is making me reluctant to move it on.
Anyone got a set of roof bars ? ;-)
Not posted on here in a while as I have been busy actually using the Clio. The car has been back into SWR for a new Caliper on the front and rear Discs, Pads and Wheel Bearings so the brakes feel much better now.
I’m getting into Cycling in a big way and having such a small car isn’t working...
I’m in the same boat as you.
I’ve spent a fortune on my Cup which has 79k on it and was obsessed with trying to keep it immaculate for months and months afterwards.
I figured that if I sell it, I’ll never get my money back, someone else would just see the benefits of all my time and...
Clips arrived today and I’m slightly stumped.
Does anyone know how I can separate the yellow bit from the white bit ?
Or an easy way to remove the yellow clips from the door ?
I’ve found them. I’m an idiot and didn’t realise the clips were sold as both parts!
