I'll possibly call by before you all set off to say hello. There's a possibility I might catch up with the convoy after I've done taxi job at 5.30 if I can find out roughly where you'll all be.
Hope you all have a good run tomorrow. Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow evening otherwise I'd join you. Maybe the next time. I'm hoping to make the EVO run next saturday now.
Erm a decent RS Clio will outdrive a Mini and most other fast cars. See EVO this month. They rate the 182 as No 1 supercar slayer in ECO car of the year. In fact EVO are always banging on about Renaultsport Clio's,Meganes etc . Theres a head to head this month against a new Megane 250 cup and a...
Its fairly likely to be the ring on the rear hub, they can come adrift sometimes. The shock absorbers are a doddle to change. I put new rears on mine last year. As long as you have a decent set of tools and plenty of WD40 to help the bolts if the threads are tight. Don't force the bottom bolts if...
Re: ah shitt.
The burning smell is the clutch crying enough already! Don't drop the clutch in first gear ,it won't get you away any quicker and the clutch won't last very long either. Once you're moving then give it the beans.
The Mk1 Clio's don't seem that well built in respect to corrosion protection. I went to look at a Clio a few years ago for my daughter. As soon as I opened the bonnet it was obvious the front subframe was on its last legs and generally it was looking tatty under the bonnet. In comparison to my...
I seem to recall seeing a company that was mentioned on here in Warrington that sells new bonnets, bumpers etc ready painted but cant recall who it is. Anyone point me in the right direction? I need a new bonnet for my 172 phase 1 in titanium silver. The one thats on the car is looking very...
My 172 oil light flickers when its been wet or after washing the car occasionally . I washed the car a few days ago using the pressure washer then took it for a quick drive but didnt go more than 5 miles. I got in the car tonight and the oil light flickered quite brightly until the temperature...
Cant make my mind up whether to take my Wolfrace 17" rims off the 172 and revert back to 15"OZ's. The car looks superb with 17" rims on but they catch in the arches if the car is loaded. I was just going to use the 15" rims on trackdays but for practical purposes they would be better on the car...
Mine has 102,000 on it and still goes like a goodun on track. Paid £1900 for it 2 years ago. Make sure it has cambelt done and service history and that it drives ok. It should feel solid and no rattles or squeaks.
Put some decent brakes on the car! DS2500 pads, Brembo HC front discs and fluid change as priority if using it on trackdays. Rear strut brace as well and engine damper to stop the exhaust hitting the floor when you floor it! Oh and Powerflex dogbone bush on gearbox mount.
Got to agree! Mine has all of above except for braided lines and blue fluid and brakes are superb on track. has EBC Greens on back and standard rear discs.
Go for OE Renaultsport springs with standard sport dampers. Thats whats on my 172 and its fine over the twistys. Add a rear strut brace as well for a bit of extra stiffness.
Try Northern Wheels in Great Sutton,Wirral. 0151 339 8760. He is very helpful and will advise and probably supply correct caps. northernwheels@btconnect.com
No its unlikely that renault centre caps will fit other alloys. Just been trying to get some centre caps for wolfrace rims on my 172. Apparently none of the different alloy manufacurers have interchangeable centre caps.
If you want a rolling road or dyno then go to Track n Road/Race Engine Calibration in Rainham. Its owned by a very close friend of mine Steve Greenald and his business partner Steve Pitcher. 07774773824 is his mobile number. He's been in the motorsport business for over 30 years. Very...
