What makes you think a flashy brand 5w-40 will increase logetivity over a run of the mill 5w-40? Will you be buying that Nanotech stuff because its the "best" ? £80 for 4-5 litres?

Total Quartz 9000 5w-40. I think oil is "much of a muchness", i think people putting in fully ester based synthetic oil into their engines are probably burning money away. A regular change is more important IMO. Highly debated subject though that holds a lot of opinions.

Expensive but could have guessed they would be that much considering the price of F7R valves. I bought Camtec OEM valves from Trechii components.... Thy destroyed the engine shortly after, stay well clear! I would definately buy a set of good condition second hand valves from a low mileage...

Don't get pattern part valves, they break lol. I would think other than uprated, renault would be the only place to get quality valves? Don't think id trust anything else.

They won't look right in a 172 IMO. But they are by far the comfiest car seat i've ever sat in so i can see why you would want to do it :)

To save making a new thread ill post in here. I did this job at the weekend, remove the blower box fully and removed the rad. Not the most fun job, time consuming but not actually "hard". However now i can hear a rattle or vibration from the box while driving along which is pissing me off...

Imo get a standard 172, buy some uprated pads and maybe some 2nd hand R888's and job done :) go and have fun!
