The eBay ones are fine, like said above they are a sloppy fit, but they still function as they should.
Only managed to fit one of mine, completely destroyed the hex slot on the top of the strut piston FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU
i have an excel spreadhseet that shows graphs and gear ratio's, speeds e.t.c and comparisons of a lot of JC gearboxes (ALL credit to matteh449 for producing it). I can sent it to you if you want.
When i checked my engine it had plenty of tippex marks all over the pulleys and belt. I checked the timing before i changed the belt over and it was perfect, i guess it just must work for some people? :P
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? WUT
No i have not been to holland to have my car mapped, why is that relevant? From what i can make out you are saying Henk poorly mapped the RS2 car because he used a compromised generic map for it? *so much...
So, you think looking at that graph and the powerband it produces is a result of poor cam timing? what planet are you on, it makes the correct torque up top there is clearly nothing wrong with the timing. Not to mention it was agreed between JMS and 519 the timing was fine after they checked it...
I had both 15" and 16" wheels on my cup (195/50/15 and 195/45/16 tyres).
People always say the 15" is better, more nimble, quicker e.t.c But i found the drive on 16" wheels better, more stable and better cornering.
If thats genuinely ATW's then you are making 185BHp ATF apporx.
Although you peak at 145Ft lbs and i peak at 130ft lb (ATW graphs), so something is amiss..
(i made 154ATW and 186ATF at SRR)
Heres a Friday morning question for you Chip.
How much power and torque do you reckon you could create from a bone stock F4R that had a completely dynamic valvetrain setup. A camshaft that can change its lift, duration and any other possible variable on the fly at any given RPM. (i guess like...
Damn need to get some matched inlets and a decat on mine and get it re-run.
Any chance you could post your graphs up so i can see where you have made gains compared to mine?
Please correct me if im wrong, i know very little about turbo conversions but..
I was under the impression if the return is tapped into the sump it can get blocked because the oil level in the sump will sometimes be above the return, now i have heard this can cause blockage issues, stop oil...
Get the car to Gaz at Longwell green service station in Bristol he will sort the car out for you very fairly priced and has a passion for doing a good. PM me if you would like his details.
Something to note too, since the RR in december, Andy said my gearbox losses had changed by 5% (or could it be 5bhp?, im not sure). I have changed the box oil for fresh stuff, did'nt realise it could make that much difference though?
i don't think so, his torque curve is very very similar to mine, he can just hold his torque an extra 100-200rpm over my engine which is how he nets the higher peak figure.
I havent really got an issue with low down torque IMO, you put your foot down and it still f***s off and goes! I have more to squeeze yet, matched inlets and a different exhaust setup and a few other tweaks and ill be back with a vengeance.
