sorry if this another donkey Scud question, but is the 182 available in any shades of red? (which, as all smart peeps know, is the best colour in the world ever for a 172/182 ;) )
g
you pay your membership fee (obviously) plus pay for any parts that you may need on the spot.
Only used them once when my mums hateful, horrid, Volvo 480s alternator packed up on me the M4...at 4am. A b*****d, shi5, cun5 of a car that was.
g
cheers david, well i checked the lighter and that works, but not the light around it or the one in the ashtray - guess that leaves the bulb as the culprit. Is it easy to locate? (i seem to remember dash bulbs are one of those nightmare jobs...)
g
guys, does the clio have a light in the ashtray and around the lighter? Im sure it used to be lit up, but last night it wasnt. Blown fuse or summit...any ideas?
g
i had the rust on my tailgate sorted by a dealer. They huffed and puffed that it was an import then I showed them that warranty letter...then they fixed it.
g
paul - i absolutely agree. I collected my keys and scarpered as quickly as I could. As far as I was concerned, the moment I left the forecourt, any future dealings relating to problems would be between me and reno (afterall, thats who the warrantys with)
g
i must be the only weirdo who likes the 4k rattle - its more like a angry rasp than a rattle, and I think it overlays the deep engine note really nicely!
g
I got my Clio from Trade Sales in May 2002. It was sourced from a Renault dealer in Paris, is full UK-spec minus alarm, locking wheel nuts and etched windows. It cost £11,699. It came with 1 years manufacturers warranty - the subsequent letter from reno confirmed it is covered by Reno UK for one...
i do share your new-owner concerns. I was equally troubled about who would get my old Alfa. Luckily, it went to an Alfa nut. And nuts are all thats left of it now after an errant lorry destroyed it five months after he bought it.
g
i think it looks increasingly like we can put this down to user error...
cheers peeps - at least i can be warm now (the glow from my cheeks should be enough...)
g
now you mention it Viv, the air con was on - i only noticed this when i got home...im not sure at what point this happened, because i asked my mate to sort the heat out while i was driving, so praphs he flicked it on....ok, somaybe last night was a false alarm? (hope so!!)
g
thats what I dont quite get - mines like yours KDF (i.e on a short journey to work heats up quick and comfy) but it was on a longer run yesterday it seemed to struggle. Ill monitor it (that and my damp patch and my slighty dodge ABS sensor and my 4k rattle) over the next few days.
g
troops, whats the heater like in your 172? At below 0, mine doesnt seem that warm at all. In fact, on journey last night (about 20mins, then 20mins back home, it felt chilly inside. Im not expecting to be able to roast an ox, but it felt uncomfortably nippy inside at max temp and high fan speed...
hmmm - well, Ive not knocked a kerb or anything and Im pretty careful not to mount kerbs etc. Ill check the pressure first, then the tracking. As for the ABS, it made the Grrrr noise, but no pedal pulsating to accompany it. I was braking gently, the car halted and I heard Grrrrr from the front...
i noticed today that the front left tyre seems to squirm a bit under braking and that when accelerating the steering tugs more to the left that usual - i think i may have a slightly under inflated left tyre. But also, when braking to a halt from low speed in the dry, my ABS unit made that sort...
if it is the boot, im going to be very cross with someone...someone i suspect that may have torn a seal. It had better not be the boot. Im getting quite cross now just thinking about it.
g
drat. Just noticed it. Flipped up the squab of the rear passenger sear (nearside) and theres a nice puddle/damp patch. I knew summit was up the other day when the air con was stuggling to keep the rear windows clear. Time to get the talcum powder out and trace the leak. Any known places i should...
Im not very bright so i cant upload a pic for you, but to give you an idea - imagine a wedge of cheese painted red with a black roof. Add appalling shut lines, sexy alloys, tiny windows, six (yep six) headlights, 164 style rear lights, bespoke beige leather interior, a sweet 3.0 V6 with 220bhp...
ive got the car for you King Stromba. Its an Alfa, of course - the SZ. Meets all your requirements (except practical, but b****cks to that).
Good looks - strange looking, so yes
B. Handles superbly - yup!
C. Rare - yes
D. Practical - not really
E. Economical - kinda
F. Only...
btw -
pic of a school bus = michael jackson
pic of an alfa 156 sportwagon = ugly bloke from Mingers.com
pic of a pedal go-kart = george bush
pic of hotted-up Saxo = Kevin (of Kevin and Perry fame)
funnier when you see it, i guess...
g
Not sure where to put this now that off topic is closed, but its Clio related and very funny - simply guess what celeb drives what car (Michael Jacksons killed me!)
