Hey Cupsize.
Glad you like the CUP. It is a completely different car from the demo 172 I drove.
Ive now done 1,400 miles and am very happy with it.
Watch out for the tyre pressures. Mine were 5psi over all round. No wonder tramlining was a problem.
Seats are crap. Waiting for a set of...
matt4478,
I quite agree with you. I am an experienced driver having done rallying, many track days, ROSPA police driver training (im not a cop btw) and have learnt many lessons from crashing cars also!!!!
The Cup has got really snatchy brakes without ABS, but with Servo assistance. I can...

Im seriously thinking about changing my 16" Speedline Turinis on the 172CUP for a 17" set in White.
Anyone got 17s on their 172 and what are the opinions? How do they affect handling???
Also what is the offset??? Do you think the offset is the same for the 172 as the 172CUP.
Cheers,
172CUP

I must say that Im really impressed with the in-gear times as 80 - 110 in 5th is reaaaalllly impressive.
Done 1025 miles now and it seems to be loosening up nicely and really looking forward to getting a new exhaust system including de-cat pipe from K-Tec racing, when the de-cat pipe comes...

Frosty,
BenR is correct. Thrash the nuts off it. I did from about 150 miles on the CUP and now its done 950 miles and has not gone bang yet. If there was a running in period Renualt could not have a 12K 1st service. The Scoobys 1st service is @ 1K and thats only an oil change as they put...

Absolutely caned it last night (now on 750 miles) around Basildon Essex (if any one knows the 2nd roundabout mecca to Milton Keynes) and was impressed with the speed and speed carried through roundabouts. The handling is razor sharp but really predictable and telegraphs when the back is going to...

Come and drive this baby and youll find out.
However, where would I find the tracking settings etc?? Renault dealer, but then again most of them have not even driven one.
My local dealer asked me for a drive in mine.
Mad!
Guys et Gals,
Another question....
on the CUP, when you change up over 5K revs, the rev-counter spins wildly up to the limiter. I let my mate drive it today and he races Elises and he agrees with me that it happened to him, no matter how quickly he lifted off the throttle on the change...

People picture this....
Last night, normal A road,, straight..... Stop the CUP and then launch off to test my theory on these tyres or that the CUP set up is scary.
No wheelspin after clutch drop, OK,,, then proceed in 1st to 6.5K before change with the steering wheel trying to do 90 degree...
