could try the parada spec 2's (205/45/16), no squirm, decent in the wet, at goodwood they were excellent. had a double blow out with the contis. not tried the pe2's. just bought 4 f1's in 15" to try for the 'wet' season, wont be using them on track unless its lashing it down, hope they are not...
also had both, excellent service at both places, prospeed for me tho as the fit was perfect, the k-tec one never sat straight & rattled against the frame, took it back for adjustment & they cable tied it..

sounds good, mine is a lot of fun at 280, just think there should be more of these conversions around. if i had to start again i would take this route.
my old 172, used a brake duct & quality 70mm hose from Yozzasport, (screws were temporary but never got the chance to 'tidy' it up as the car was written off), removed acoustic crap, hose was virtually bend free, definate improvement.
spose you could change the body but i like the 1.8 shell, id not seen one before the test drive, i like the flared arches. the badges get a fair bit of attention after hearing the dump valve in traffic, like a kid with a new toy ;)
there you go, 180hp lump must cost less ;) , dont think il be tuning it that far^^, its fast now, cant imagine what 3.9secs feels like! im not going to strip it as i need it practical & i like the sleeper look. did buy some daytonas for it but tbh im not impressed, need to adress the suspension...
thanks folks, got it for £5,600, could have bought a scoob or early evo i guess but this has the fun factor! no plans to mod it as its plenty fast, had a thumbs up from an s3 driver this aftnoon, the R32 & the evo 2 on chromes were not amused tho. im down south so cadwell is off, plan to visit...
following the sudden demise of my 172, Flans 16v caught my eye & im now the proud owner, picked her up on thursday & today had a proper drive, when i think of the £ i spent on trying to tune my RS :rolleyes: , if id have known about transplanting the VAG lump, there should be more of these...
the original seats in my 16v have an arm at the bottom which once pulled moves the seat, reclining it instantly. having just bought some daytonas they dont seem to have this, do the daytonas work with this arm? or is it that the daytonas only recline using the dials on the bottom of them? never...
option 2 looks good, i got halfway there, spent thousands only for some idiot to rub me out, now il be looking for cars that already have the modifications, had it been a month or so ago id have snapped up ChrisK's tb rs, instead ive bought Flans old car...only have to change the seats.
