Cups where built for a purpose (Homologation special) - only Cup versions of the 172 clio (ie not 172s) are permitted to enter clio cup racing in Uk and Europe - they...
Anyone know wher eyu can get the same suspension (coilovers I imagine) as per the clio cup racers - anyone know who supplies them or did anyone get a good look at the cup racer on the renault trackday?
I think youll actually find that the Mk2 V6 and the Cup blue are the same! Whether or not they call it Mondial Blue doesnt matter - check it out when you see one - its clear from the magazines that its the same.
Yeah the point being though that the cup (like the williams) was marketed as a one colour only model (mondial blue) and thats what it should have been kept as - it made it unique, and that little bit different from the a standard red, black, blue or silver 172 - A cup in silver will always look...
Ben R - I take it you dont like the Subaru WRC blue either then? Coz its practically the sameas the cup blue - how can you say you dont like the purple /blue flip of the cup is beyond me! Its unique! The new Golf R32, Peugeot 206 GTi 180 , Subaru Impreza WRX/Sti and the Citroen saxo all sport...
This is an exert from AutoExpress: "...Fire the engine and its clear this Clio is a hard-edged machine. The exhaust sounds louder and the throttle feels much more responsive thanks to a series of modifications made to the engine management system. Slot into first gear, and the clutch feels a...
Yup - my cars been in 4 times to sort this - its the engine mount on the left under the battery - needs a rubber bush - when the engiones under torque its clanging when pulling away (once the clutch is out) and practically every time you change gear in 1st, 2nd and thrird! Very annoying -...
Surely itll just look like a 172 with a cloth interior an no xenons? The cup badges arent really gonna work either (silver on silver...?) 172 CUP will always be remembered for its Mondial Blue colour IMHO.........enjoy anyhow!
Some 172 cups on this forum have 184BHP at the fly any way - whats the point! Like the twin zorsts though! New clio out early next year so we could have a final incarnation of the Mk3 by Crimbo maybe - damn!
Even though the stats said in the CCC article that the 0-60 was 7.05 - that could be down to a number of things! They did mention though that the torque, response and pulll was up over standard and as previously mentioned Torque is better than BHP.
Unfortunately itsm something you will have to put of with Im afraid - most cars will never sit level with the steering level as well! Mine is out and no matter how many times you have it set up it will never be perfectly striaght and centred. Someone told me that because French cars drive on...
I believe talking to pretender that the bumper came primed with foglamps and lower grill already in it? If this was true it would be a bargain although me thinks its not?
Tuned 240BHP Type R Civic won- THE CUP STILL CAME SECOND beating the lancer Evo - They claimed the torque and midrange pull was impressive over the standard cup but the 0-60 time I wouldnt read into that -it was probably a bad timing run or something. But yeah LAD arent doing themselves any...
The camber on the cup is aolready adjusted 3 degrees negative so why would you need KTEc camber adjusting bolts for springs that arent much lower than the standard ones?
I see a blacvk, red and silver one over here............more common than the 172............theres only 3 cups in Northern ireland! and Ive opnly ever seen one Mk1 172 and a Mk2 172 here as well!
