Needs replaced - you will find if yiou bring the car in that the valave is missing!!!!! Its up to you of course but Ilike to know all the bits are where they should be! Warranty repair naturally.
Its safe to drive it but I wouldnt drive it on a trck day - NO WAY - i asked my dealer prior to having a new one replaced and he said "just take it easy" I wouldnt advise it, wasnt even happy driving it around waiting for it to be fixed.
No coilovers will go down that far unless they are modified by the owner - 30mm is a normal drop for most cars using coilovers - the front should always be lower on front wheel drive cars.
Dont know what it looks like but you will know when its gone - if the cars on or off push the pedal in and release it - you should here a thunk (metal noise) and the brake pedal will feel quite loose.
Yup - you need to get the brake limiter valve replaced - mine fell off somewhere between 10,000 and 16,000 miles - if anyone finds it please bring it to the nearest police station! The Brake limiter valve is needed on cars with no ABS - it distributes brake balance between fronts and rears -...

If your cup is new and experiencing a number of problems here is how to fix them and what to tell your dealer the problems are- coz they sure as hell dont know. Finally got the car back today after the 4th time being in and everythings as it should be - no rattles, clunks or thunks.

Neil - I spoke to Jonathan at R-Sport today (Hes the main guy whos developed the upgrades) and he said it wasnt warranty approved and it does fit the 172..........tahst what he told me..........ring him back and confirm if you like but either way Im fitting it - couldnt give a toss about the...
Yup its defo to direct air from the front grille and lower grille after passing through the rad to pass up and over the head and out through the bonnet - vent sits just in front of the engine?
Thats sounds like a good theory NicK - I notice in the photo Tom posted that their is a large bit of ductwork from th ebonnet going into the car somewhere - I imagine this is to get cold air to the driver and co-driver - I thought originally that it wasa sinilar induction system as used by the...
My Mk2 1.6 16V is pushing 137BHP and 0-60 in 7.9. Its superchipped too, but that on its own wont give you big gains - more Torque than BHP which is what matters more. Big gains only available on this engine if you change to bigger injectors.........as per any car really.
A full tank holds about 360 miles I think and costs £40 approx therefore round trip about £50 = a hellof a lot cheaper than £700 - go anyway, I reckon its a bit of a copout on there part but it would be really useful to put this argument to rest once and for all and really see the proof of what...
R-Sport does not equal Renault Sport - they are an independant componay in Wimbledon who have been tuning hot renaults for years. RenaultSport is based in france.
John at R-Sport said the Bonnet vent will cause the engine to run at higher temps - dont know why but I assume its because cold...
Its a competition ECU - R-Sport claim good torque increases and a better spread of the usable power range. Can be fitted to a 172 as well as the cup and is not a warranty approved by Renault. Also fractional 0-60 and 0-100 times but really makes the car more responsive and driveable - they have...
Just spoke to R-Sport this morning about the competition ECU...........they also have a replica Super 1600 Vented Bonnet at £250 unpainted............that would be very nice indeed...............they say it cuase the engine to run hotter than normal but should be alright as long as the majority...
Its soooooooo easy this isnt it? Think your all confusing the word cup and taking it out of context! Clio CUP racing is just the name of the race series - it just so happened that Renault decided to use this name for their homologation special the 172 CUP.........just like if they ever make a...
Yeah but Tom, it clearly says "This is the “super touring” Clio in the range !
Fine-tuned for racing purposes, it is based on the 2.0 Clio Renault Sport launched in December 1999 .............hmmm funny that....... the 172 Cup road car (homologation special) was produced to homologate these...
