Ph1 Airbox Clips

Got the chance to buy a Ph1 172 airbox off superfastdan for a bit of DIY maxogen action, only trouble is its missing two of the clips that hold the two parts of the airbox together.

Is this going to be a major problem? Obviously don't want to be getting unfiltered air sucked into the engine.

All mine fell apart (well the two that were on) I "borrowed" a couple of fasteners from work and riveted them on. It holds ok with 2 no problems.

My box only has 2 clips on.. just got one on the top and bottom, seems to hold it good enough!

BTW you cant suck in "unfiltered" air as it would still have to go through the filter even if the lid was slightly loose

You can use cable ties to hold it together. Just drill a hole through the plastic near where the clips go. They hold it on much better

i got one last week had 3 original clips and 1 bit of metal that was bent like the normal ones, does the job, in fact its stronger than the standard ones!
