Telephone Provider

Having just moved house we do not currently have a phone provider.

I understand that BT locks you in a 3 month minimum contract, does this mean that if we wanted to take up the offer from pipex talk ( http://www.solo.pipex.net/pipextalk/ ) that we could not do so for 3 months?

you have to have a bt line as well as the package through them.

Imediately.

Your contract with BT is for the provision of the line and monthly line rental. Pipex talk merely gives you cheaper calls than BT.

You still have to pay BT for the line rental every month.

join with bt and get the basic package - its about £12 a month (its what we are on) and then go with pipex - i think you should be able to join straight away as you are not cancelling you bt line as you will still be paying the £12 a month for it.

our bt line is £12 a month and all our calls get routed through our tiscali line as we have broadband package with free/cheap calls

I've signed up to Pipex talk as part of my bb package Si.

I did it straight away (after moving in), even get the bills emailed to me, this month £1.03

Sounds all good then, just need to wait till payday so I can cough up the deposit that BT want before they connect us!
