That is a very long gear!! I think my 172 only gets to 80 something in 3rd - never really looked properly! I drive mine in 4th a lot of the time......theres oodles of torque from across the rev range, and you can drop a gear if need be. Are you planning to run it in as per the Renault...

Dont be surprised about the higher gear thing! 4th is possibly my favourite gear in my 172 - seems to pull like a train. Dont ask me why - I just like it best! (obviously not to pull away in though :oops:)

Youre right.....a lot of places dont seem to be up to date with valuations. I would just take the 51 plate (which seems to be the latest) value and add a bit (hopefully). Parkers say £6340 trade for a 51 plate with 2000 miles, so yours must surely be worth over £7k. I know they lose the bulk...
