good thread.
Feel quite priveleged that my first pc was a 350mhz k62 with 32 mb ram and 16mb gfx. Bought it second hand for 400 quid in 2000!
My first computer was a commodore 16.
I'd never have dreamt of games like cod4 as a kid on my rig now.
squealing brakes is usually caused by the vibration of the pads. All they need is some copper grease applied to the non friction side. Do a search no here for copper grease and brake squeal and you'll see.

ok I understand. Just wasn't sure if I needed to grease the shaft good and proper ready for the new bearing or just slide it straight on to an ungreased shaft.
I'm convinced I can hear a humming from the passenger rear. In fairness this was there before I replaced the disc and bearing. The...
Sorry edde, I'm not sure I'm with you.
I've put new discs on with new bearings. Just wasn't sure if I was meant to grease the shaft that the new bearing slides over.
Sorry to keep asking for help.
Cheers.
Cheers edde. I did put a small amount on, probably only a really fine layer of grease around the shaft. Not sure if that'll be enough to be fair. Is that likely to cause any problems?
See, I though the bearing was meant to pretty much grip the shaft while the outer casing parts span around...
What a carry on!
Had to put a new disc with old pad on drivers rear leaving the passenger side disc and pad as old.
Not ideal but will do until Sunday when I can attempt to do the passenger side.
I have just put new discs and pads on front and new pads waiting for the rear.
Crap!
Just phoned my break down and they're going to come and tow it to nearest garage :-S
Garage said they'll fit the pads and discs on the rear for about £40. Sick as a chip and I'm not a complete fool but just don't have a puller or a grinder and besides, working all weekend...
Changing rear discs.
Eventually managed to get disc off with force.
Is the the other half of the bearing that's ended up left on my car? I've broken the bit in my hand and the bit around the shaft is still on.
Cannot get it off.
Any ideads?
Cheers.
Busy changing discs and pads all round.
Just finished doing the front but pushing the brake piston back in with the fluid cap off is making it overflow and drip.
Is this going to cause a problem when I put the cap back on and drive?
Had my brake fluid changed about 3 months ago. With...
Had a scan about on here and a little bit confused as to socket sizes.
I'm going to buy some new ones as mine are a bit mashed.
I think I need for the front:
13mm socket, 17mm spanner for the caliper piston part. Can someone confirm?
What about the size of the socket for removal of...
Keep spotting this lower spec Clio done up with 182 bumpers, lights, wheels etc.
Sorry for the lower spec comment, just not sure what type of Clio it is.
Looks decent enough, just the colour a give away.
Spotted a few times around the bottom of the John Reid road area.
Anyone?
I always liked the idea of these and spent £100 on one off ebay.
Stacked it the first night and the motor caught fire!
Stick with my PicoZ now.
I think you get what you pay for. Spend a lot and it will probably be better but then there's more money to trash.
