Can someone advise how the rear seats from a Cup are removed. Cannot budge the two bolts in the rear on the black metal bar - are these suppose to come out?
For your info. I booked Cup into garage for a check up to have it checked all over and to check/tighten the engine/suspension mounts etc.
Feels much better now. Doesnt seem to rattle as much and the steering feels more positive.
Reno didnt say anything about the warranty when they fitted it, so i guess its down to them if anything goes wrong. I think Renosport would surely step in if something happend, like the engine blowing up.
Thanks for the replies.
Took it to Reno and they fitted it for me for £30. They asked why new ecu and I said Renosport sent it to me and it would improve drivability, so they agreed to fit it.
Not getting the bleeps but I did disconnect the battery, so I hope the immobiliser still functions...
Has anyone fitted this and how did you do it?
I cant seem to get the black cage unscrewed from the ECU. After disconnecting the battery, when i lock the car i now here a few bleeps after it has locked. All the red lights come on so bit confused. Is it something to do with the immobiliser not...
Ive just put Yoko A539 on my Cup for £45 each to see how they fair against the contis. Initial impression is much more grippy in dry not so competent in the wet but then it makes driving much more fun around the bends.
Philip,
If you are unsure get the part number from Reno like I did. There is a big difference, visually between a 172 and Cup windscreen. Just make sure you get the one with the viewing area at the top middle of screen.
Strange about the crack because mine did exactly the same. Cracked...
Brun,
I used Mobile 1 0W-40 from 6k to 12k miles. Now the car is in for 12,000 miles service would it be better to put in Mobile 1 15W-50 motorsport or stick with 0W-40.
cheers
I told the service guy that peeps pay anything from £130 to £200 and he said that all pricing over the country should now be the same.
I think Id so some research myself to see if it is different.
Did anyone here with a Cup go as I saw one near mine bu cant remember the reg. Sad tho it sounds walking passed the car parks was fun spotting different cars from WRXs, Astra triple 8s, Focus RS, Evos etc.
Did anyone see the Lotus Carlton at the Vauxhall stand - was in very good nick...
I know this has come up before but Ive been quoted £175 inc vat & labour for 12,000 mile service on my Cup and Im supplying the oil.
Does this seem expensive as Im sure people have paid nearer £150 inc oil? Bye the way this is at Milton Keynes Reno.
thanks
Ben
Can anyone tell me what the Technical note number is for that picture of it above about fixing the knocking when turning, as my car is in for a service and I need to get this fixed.
Thanks
Ben
I will be there Friday in a blue Cup;)
Seems that there will 12 V6s, 12 Cups and over 20 172s plus an Alpine GTA V6.
JJ172 - would like to see your susp. mods. Spoke to a clio cup race team at Rockingham yesterday about suspension. He said that they were the official tester for adjustable...
I was there with girlfriend all day.
Racing was spot on, especially the final BTCC race where the clouds came in, it started getting dark and then it started thundering & lightening. It made the experience even better. Wicked atmosphere.
Just to add something else to this.
Had my Cup at reno to look at back brakes clicking, but seemed to be ok. Car was on ramps so ask mechanic about the knocking noise when turning 90 degrees. When moving the wheels from opposite locks, the front left suspension spring was slightly popping out...
My water temperature gauge is fluctuating around the normal warmed up postition to just above the cold start position after fitting a replacement Green element. It doesnt happen all the time only when i drive it hard and then when slowing down. Now im no expert but the element wouldnt have any...
As the title says, Ive fitted the green replacement element in my Cup today. Definately a difference - seems to rev much more freely.
However, Ive noticed that my temperature gauge occasionally fluctuates every 5mins or so. It seems to drop from the normal middle position when warmed up, down...
Yeah.
Ive just fitted PIAA white white LED sides and PIAA Extreme main dipps plus silverfusion front and back. Looks so much better at night and in the day with silver bulbs.
Have just received my smoked side repeaters for my 172 Cup from BB performance tuning. On the phone they said they would include instructions about filing some of the plastic or something so it fits properly.
Didnt receive any instructions, so i thought id ask if anybody else knows what to do...
Having more power in my case would not necessarily lead to more over taking but would definately give me an even bigger buzz when accelerating hard.
Rob - ask any 172/Cup driver, if they are behind a slowist driver on safe road, you cant help but plant the throttle and listen to the grunt of...
Are the stickers those ones where you can unpeel from your window and reapply again. I mean there not permanent when stuck on the window.
What does it mean by internal & external stickers without sounding stupid? Surely not on the outside of the window as it would get wet and dirty.:confused...
