Cheers Philip. I asked about the tbs at demon tweeks and the guy asked how I use the car. I said for road use mainly, he laughed and said the car is powerful enough and that tbs are not suitable for road use only. So whats the deal then I though 200bhp in a 172 would be fine for the chassis...

My light seems to come on at 6900 and goes off at 7100rpm. When it use to come on at 6750 rpm. Strange, although it seems to be different when the temperature is either really hot or fairly cold like last week.

It does exist as Ive been out with the test guy at reno a few weeks ago. At the time he also had an ITG induction kit fitted. Good sound and performance but not completely convinced yet as this stuff is all bolt on with no need to RR.

Reading the above comments is really interesting and very useful. However Im a little concerned about the Reno chip, filter & exhaust as ive been told it will be all bolted on without any rr or mapping needed. Does that sound right? I suppose i could ring R-sport if someone has the number.

Give your car a bit of thrashing in first 3 gears each week. Helps loosen the engine and keeps engine from becoming sluggish. I do about 50 miles a day and sometimes find the Cup slightly slower one day but then extremely fast the next day. Im sure these cars have mood swings!!

Thats why I asked. If i lived local to them i would go & test drive theirs. If they RR the car before modding and then after, you will see the gains wont you! This guy was pretty sure on 30bhp+ thats why they do the RR. If it only worked out at 15-20bhp gain then probably not worth it.

Spoke to a guy at LAD the other day to get info on the upgrade. They modify the head, port and polish etc. plus a few other things i have now forgotten all for £1200 +vat to get 200bhp. They also offer as part of the deal a before and after RR session so you can see how much difference the mods...

The guy I spoke to is very clued up on the Cup as he is the one testing the new ecu with r-sport and talking to reno about approval under warranty. Anyway who cares, in a month or two we may be all running around in warranty friendly mods from r-sport.

Check my Cup last night. Have done 5000 miles and at 100mph in 5 gear was reading 4800/4900 rpms. Was definately under 5000 rpms.
