My building a rally car at the moment.
Sourced a car with no engine and box.
So ive bought them sperately. And now ive come to put them together i have none of the bolts. Im guess 3 on top and a few underneath
I have been building a track Clio over the last few months, and need some advice on the following.
I currently have a JC5 129 Gearbox which i believe is from a 172 Cup?
and need to clarify what drive shafts fit this gearbox.

Not too shabby for my 1st ever project.
Next its looking at purchasing a engine crane unless somebody in south wales hires them. And attempt to get the engine back in.
Also rebuilt the whole front suspension which now has proflex black series all round. New coilovers. New pms top mounts and bearings. Pms strut brace. New hubs. New track rod ends. New anti roll bar yellow series bushes and a refreshed anti roll bar. Also installed some new front vented and...
So aint really done an update for a while as funds were a bit low due to moving house.
On the plus side i have a new garage to play with.
Anyhow back to the car. Decided to go with a standard 172 set up at the moment. And look at improvements in the near future.

Many thanks for that mate. I have done a bit of research and future down the line i will buy a more purpose full diff such as gripper. But for now I will probably look into what your suggesting
Gents need some advice.
I bought a clio 172 with no gearbox as part of an on going rally car project.
Basically me and my brother are gonna have a go at the sport on a budget.
Cars undergone a full rebuild, including Perspex windows, mark fish x door bar roll cage, 172 engine refresh, and now...
Bit confused as to what gearbox i require for my 172.
unfortunately got rid of the old one, without looking at the code.
im guessing its a speedo driven jc5 130?
anybody able to shed anylight on this.

Gents I have removed AC and PAS from my track car.
Looking at it I need a new mount for the alternator and a lot smaller belt. What options are open to me here?
