Might be able to sort that out for ya! ;)
Cheers Danny! Can only take credit for the design, and parts but the welding has made what it is. Focrs was at it for about 5 hours on Sunday so a massive thanks to him!
Cheers mate!
Cheers Wayne, hopefully soon. Hows yours doing?
You said it...
Been working away on a few things but mainly the inlet manifold. Making some parts for it when I got time. Once all the parts were made, focrs on here kindly welded it up for me and what a job he made of it too. Well pleased with the way it turned out!
Tried it in the engine bay as well and...
As mine will be used on track I went for 10w50 Nanodrive or will probably use 15w50 Motul 300V in future.
Its not so much the grade because its turbo it what oil temps will you spend most of your time at.
Its a battery, not a dog!
9 years is good going though. Do you don more than 7 miles per journey mostly? That was the figure I was given that it takes to recharge a battery after a cold start.
Bet you it does! I had a similar issue going into the hairpin but was down to the powder coating on the wheel against the hub heating up and melting. Not a good feeling.
hopefully see you guys soon(ish) on track! Lol
Sounds like you had an interesting day. Well done on the PB and unlucky with the issues but seen as its your first TD in this car, I'm sure some issues were to be expected.
Ive dowt you'll have them sorted by your next TD.
My ktec stealth had a middle silencer and a cat and sounded no noisier than an OE exhaust until cruising speeds where it had a god awful drone to it.
The yozza has a straight through centre section and no cat and is not that noisy now that it's turbod. Was very noisy when NA though...
If it ain't broke and all that! For piece of mind, get a pressure check and a leak down test. I'd get all the fluids changed and possibly check the timing if you have any dowt.
For a 6k Road trip I'd not go too extreme with the mods and try and keep the reliability there.
Also make sure your...
You've got a very reasonable budget but just a few questions. What do you mean about an engine refresh? Full strip and rebuild or change the oil? Very different cost involved in each option.
I would get itb's, cams, and a stand alone ecu for your budget. Turboing in my experience costs a lot...
Just in case you are not aware the biggest issue of excessive sealant is the pieces that fall off a block oil ways or the pick up to the pump.
I found very little sealant is needed and smooth it out with my finger and then remove the excess before fitting the cover.
As you say, not a biggy to...
Mate, did you seal round the cover bolts holes after this pic was taken a they can leak from there?
Also, seems a lot of sealant you have used. How much did it squeeze out from the outside as it would have done the same on the inside.
