Hi all,
Looking for some advice, I have what sounds like a typical exhaust blow from my 182 however i have examined the exhaust from the backbox to the cat/manifold join visually and feeling for air leaks and come up with nothing.
My first thought was the cat/manifold join (i have replaced...
It wasn't the bmw it was a Clio in front.
Echo what others have said , shocking stuff !
As an aside , I heard they don't like cameras recording the action at the ring , was this hidden ?
hell your 182 was a right mess after that accident...absolute belter getting a GT86 though.
What are you going to replace the 182 with, another 172/182?
Maybe , but bug fixes will no doubt be streaming in & in conjunction with these fixes I am sure that more 'polishing' will be done in the next few months.
I would use any of the branded cleaner / oils, I have a K&N kit which i have used on non K&N items.
If you dont have any of the above then see here for the KTR stuff

It's an easy job , I didn't need it but I had my dremel to hand in case of any stubborn bolts. Get it up high and on axle stands and access is fine.
Dependant on the condition of the rear cat clamp you may want to get a new one to fit at the same time , I used the one below ...
A couple of months ago i had the exhaust off from the downpipe and replaced the manifold to cat kit and sealed the other joins on the centre section and backbox - I have rechecked these and they are not the source of the blow.
I am thinking it could be coming from the manifold to engine area...
Only a slight increase in firmness but honestly it was a decent ride.
Compared to a spring like apex (more drop though) , it's night and day (eibach = better)
I am planning a euro trip next month and in preparation i am planning to change the following;
Oil & Filter
Coolant & Thermostat
Gearbox oil
Pollen filter
Panel filter cleaned
Spark plugs were changed approx 8k ago, anything else i should consider changing? PAS fluid?
Just something to be aware of you may change the sound (slightly) of the exhaust by blocking one of the tailpipes off, I have no hard evidence of this but its something to consider before you hack it up.
You will still need to declare it regardless as already said.
There was a vid on Youtube where a 200 was done green, it looked ok in the vid but i am not sure how it would stand up to closer inspection (he did it with the doors shut), anyway this may give you some pointers / inspiration.
