^^ that depends on the cams. Most aftermarket cams retain VVT
When having very nasty cams you put on adjustable pullies for the ability to fine-tune them, losing VVT
*** EDIT *** 172Ben beat me to it !
Mine runs Colombo&Bariani cams. When mapped Henk (Fastchip) put in a VVT disable at...
A couple of months back i spend the afternoon in the workshop of a race team (they used to be racing the 172/182's , now the 197)
They started to experiment with diffusers on the back for more stick and yep ; got better laptimes. Mind you , the diffusers they made up and stuck on there looked...
little fast cars , heavy engine in the front. Needs downforce on a light rear end, simple.
Renault learn a lot from their F1 technology (aerodynamics galore) ; along the years more + more of this knowledge is used in the production cars. Also at lower cost because so much knowledge has been...
@ OILMAN
Guy , what is it that Motul may be the wrong choice for everyday driving ?
My car has cams and i take it up to high revs every time ; fast road i would call it not really racing (although?;) )
I have been putting in the 300V 15W40 these last couple of years. Should i change to a...
Re: how do people lower their cars 50-60mm when my driveshafts are rubbing with just
... + get in touch with the KW dealer who sold you these ; something is'nt right with your suspension. Only worthwhile option left to check is your suspension
Re: how do people lower their cars 50-60mm when my driveshafts are rubbing with just
i will be checking this thread regularly as it is a strange problem unseen before :S
Rideheight looks fine to me, i'm absolutely baffled !
***edit***
removed my gearbox-mount comments ; cannot be the...
^^ right, maybe i have to go back there to ask what exactly they did. I remember that it was the "simple" version he sold me. The more expensive choice he said would make the car look like a mirror but therefore also really showing/bringing out the chipped surfaces/spots i have on the car...
yeah thanks guys, was thinking about getting a nice setup to trie it myself someday.
I even have a lot of white spicks coming through in some areas !? I think they rubbed all the way to the ground layer or something .. :S
The 3M stuff used , i noticed, is also the brandname for...
I brought the car away for a cleaning and waxjob, payed around 150 pounds. This is one of those companies that prep new cars to showroom status when sold.
Car looked spanking new after, really nice. However, now after washing, even during washing, you can feel some sort of reacting with...
watertempgauge allright during driving / normal reading as ever ? When the TDC sensor changing has'nt worked out for you (i do'nt think the car will even start up with a broken tdc sensor?) , you should trie this ;
Big possibility it's a dodgy watertemp sensor. When the car is cold, it...
^^ yep, i also think we might be talking alternator. Mine does exactly the same . Also a very short slip of the auxbelt when cold startup, and i have retightened the belt 2 months ago so my guess is that the alternator is pulling a "bit heavy" , might be on its way out.
makes a genuine SC...
^^ i think a lot of your clutches are'nt adjusted right when reading this. Mine goes into first fine when rolling at traffic speed, no crunching whatsoever with lots of nasty trashing speeds
even with my cams i can feel a bit of "flat" above 7000 rpm. But then again i can remember in my case that it's mapped with VVT disable at around 7000 .
back seats gone, original frontseats changed for 6,3kg Sparco buckets (semi buckets, comfy - with sliders ;) ) Also a lot easier getting in+ out the car with these instead of full buckets !
around 40kg weight saved with the above mentioned. Real nice daily driver, damn lot of weight loss and...
