Unlucky on the track day but I'm surprised they never black flagged you for dropping so much fluid on the track.
Most track days I've been on it would not have been allowed.
Car is looking good but and I'm sure you'll bounce back.
Right, read the intro and from what I can see it should load the driver on when I plug the USB into my laptop.
Is this correct as it's not doing anything apart from saying it can't install or something.
Do I need to log in to the fast chip website first and pay for my license first?
Cheers pal, top stuff.
I'm going to have a go at this this week so I may be on again with more daft questions.
Do you think it is essential I get a remap before I do a track day with these mods?
I have an RStuner that I want to get a map for that would suit a yozza decated system and a V6 airbox on a 172 cup.
Can anyone tell me a map that would suit these mods the best and is there even one as specific as that?
As you can probably tell I'm not too clued up on RStuners so any help or...
Some impressive work been going on there.
I've just fitted a Decat today so after reading this I'll need to see how I find it on mine. My car is mainly used on track so flat spots lower down the rev range is not too much of an issue. I'm just looking for top end.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
I'll be going next weekend. The car loves it and who am I to stop it's fun.
Think there is some hill climb events that are closer but not sure on the rules and regs yet. I wanted to get use to the car and then look at these events for next year.
Maybe see you later this...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Get that thread started so I can see some pics. Looking forward to seeing this manifold matey.
Will the car be in any state to take to knockhill next weekend? Guessing not by the sounds of things.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Not yet, keep meaning to get it done but wanted to get the filter, Decat and new exhaust on first and get a map to suit. I keep putting it off as computers stuff just pisses me off.
House the mani coming along?
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Thanks very much mate.
I'll get pics up as soon as I get them fitted.
I've got another brake cooling idea that i might try as well. I'll see how it goes though with the ducts and deflectors first.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
It's been a while but got some stuff done today and took pics of the other jobs I've been doing over the last couple of weeks.
Fitted the Whiteline ARB from the group buy:
Not sure what difference it makes yet but will be finding out at Knockhill next weekend.
Also...
I use motul gear 75w80 and seems to do the job but if 75w90 can be used it means I can use the same as is in the Impreza so can buy the same for both cars.
Right, got these ba5tards fitted today and have to agree with all who said it is an absolute pig to do especially on the driveway.
For anyone else attempting to do this, here is a couple of tips that worked for me after a couple of hours of head scratching and swearing.
1) ditch the 25mm...
I've checked mate next to mine and it is definitely the passenger side. The stub axle is free to be put in either side, I may have just put it in the wrong way in the pic.
