15" dynamique alloys ok for track?

I'm sure they would be fine, just heavy for a 15" wheel.

    Balancing Weights On New Alloys...

Just got some tyre fitted this week on newish wheels and the weights that were taken off and the ones put on were completely different and in different places. I think it is a combination between tyres not being perfect along with the wheels.

    Track Tyre Recommendations

£160 each but so that would be £640 plus delivery. Don't doubt for a moment how good they are but 2.5x as much as the federals.

    Track Tyre Recommendations

What I should of asked is will I be disappointed with the federals compared to r888's or A048's? Fred - are the silverstones pure slicks? Need something that could also do something in the rain other than killing me. :dead:

    Track Tyre Recommendations

Looking for some new rubber to wrap round my new 2118's and am looking for some recommendations. I had both R888's and A048's on my 16's and was pleased with both of them but can get a set of Federal RS-R's in 195 50 R15 for £250. The tyres will only be used on track so no issues with road...

I must not be serious person then. :rasp: It is an indiscation only but fair point.

    Brake temps!

What do you get on your rears Tony. I guess more than 40deg?

    Brake temps!

Still got some way to go then. With the set up I have (pads/discs/fluid) what would be the temp limit before I should start to worry? Obviously if the brakes are still good then I can spend more time out on track rather than letting them cool down all the time.

Diagnostics Tool / Fault Code Reader / RS Tuner ?

You only need a licence to remap your car not to read codes. If you bought a second hand rstuner you could read the codes and sell it on for as much as you bought it for so it could work out free.

    Brake temps!

I think knockhill is very heavy on brakes as the track is only 1.3miles and the hairpin and duffas at the end of the main straight you are very hard on the brakes and lap after lap you are not getting alot of time to get the heat out of them again so the heat just builds up. I know nearly...

    172 cup boosted track toy!

Re: 172 Cup track toy! First track day yesterday with the white line ARB and decatted yozza exhaust. ARB made the car feel a lot more stable and controllable at speed. Very impressed so far and that only on the softer setting so I might try the harder one next time. Yozza exhaust sounds epic...

    Brake temps!

Thought I'd get some data on brake disc temperatures at a track day as was at yesterday to see how much difference ducts actually make. I used an infrared laser thermometer and checked as soon as I could when I came off after 2 cool down laps after around 20 fast laps. Car is a 172 cup...

    Slight Oil leak

Copper compression on the P1 so just presumed all were like that but I stand correct on Renault ones. Lol at cost saving on bag.

    The wheel specialist North East

The glasgow branch did an excellent job on my O2 wheels. I wanted the exact colour match of the original oz anthracite which as it turned out was a complete pain in the ass to get but they managed it and the work was top quality. Highly recommend them.

    Slight Oil leak

Bought one of flea bay last time for about 75p last time. £1.70 for 1g of copper in a ring is talking the pis5!

Fuel Tank Return Pipe From Carbon Canister, will it leak fuel?

From what I've read on here I would definitely bung it. Non return would be pointless if it's not going anywhere.

    Slight Oil leak

For 50p you are as well changing the washer every time. As it works by compression it doesn't always work twice.

    n/s diveshaft inner boot clip

Cable tie it. That's what I did 3 years ago and it's as good now as it was when I did it.

    Decat Fitting

Fitted mi e at the weekend and found if you jam a bit of wood from the block to the bolt of the manifold/cat joint it is a lot easier for people who have no friends like me! Lol:rasp:

    Stiff brakes

Surely this would only be a brake problem at idle then rather than all the time?

    URGENT help needed

Get 'easyouts' from your local hardware store. They are left hand thread tepered bolts that you drill into the sheared bolt with that eventually grips and removes it leaving the original thread of the hole in tact. And use a torque wrench to 105Nm next time.

    Stiff brakes

Do you mean stiff pedal or the calipers are stiff? Water in the lines would make the pedal spoungy.

    Whiteline Rear ARB fittings

I dont know how well hammerite adheres to some coatings though. Think it says it must be applied to bare metal or rust.
