I was referring to RS clios with 172hp, no traction control, 205 profile tyres and no weight over the front wheels. I get stuck everywhere when it snows. The Impreza on the other hand is very good until the snow gets too deep and the splitter acts as a plough.
Snow tyres are becoming a must with the winters we get now and the Clio is awful in the snow. I would advise getting snow tyres but only using them in november to march and if you only use them on the front there is a good chance you will go ar5e first into a hedge very quickly.
Was there not an older system called the supersport? Maybe I'm wrong.
Looking at buying a second hand system and it may need repacked at some point but thought I'd read Fred saying there was on system that was a pain in the ass to do.
I want it loud and proud so no stealth.
How do you tell the difference between their race systems and is it supersport systems? Is there any other types and do some have more frequent and difficult maintenance to be carried out?
Cheers,
Steven
Cheers Russ,
Got an oil catch can just now so which ecu is easiest to fit for the wiring loom?
Also, which sensors is it you need? Is it just coolant temp and throttle position sensors that are needed or is there more?
Looking at fitting itb's over the winter and trying to keep an eye on what second hand parts that are needed.
So far I know I'll need:
1) ITB's themselves (jenvey)
2) cable throttle pedal and cable
3) aftermarket ecu (omex, ec1, weber, etc)
4) sensors? (not sure exactly which ones yet but...
It is one piece but only as the stub shaft part is pressed it to the carrier part. I think the bolts are where its strength comes from.
You can let me know if you need it or not.
Managed to get pics of the stub shaft and I'm pretty sure its the NS I have. Its been in the garage for a year or so and Ive never fitted but looks in good nick other than some surface rust which will rub up ok.
Before you buy any you should take yours apart as the stub can come out the...
I bid on these too but wasn't being suspicious as far as I know.
They look very nice in the dark anthracite and that's exactly what I would have done.
Centre caps have to be sprayed not powder coated.
Did a mates brakes the other week there where 1 pad had completely jammed in the carrier and one side of the other pad had also causing it to wear like a wedge. Not enough clearance to take account of corrosion. Not all scoring means new discs so check the thickness of them first and not throw...
The breakers one might be worse than yours so its all relative.
I bought one second hand but never needed to use it yet. Cant remember which side it is but you can have that if it is the correct side for £40 if you like?
If interested I'll get you some photos up.
Front disc min thickness is 17.6mm and the rear is 7mm.
For the pads if they have worn evenly you could get away with about 3mm left but you will have to get down and look with the wheels off. Dont make the mistake of looking at the outside of the disc and outside pad as usually the inside has...
